Unmarked Territory

16 Feb

Bongo Sniffing BranchesRemember the other day when those guys were cutting down the branches? I wanted the chance to mark fresh, untouched branches but when we got there the guys weren’t working at all. They were taking a break.

Well, a couple days later my person and I were walking in that area again, and guess what? We found the branches. And there were logs, too. I thought for sure those guys would take all the branches away with them, but they didn’t. They saved them for me.

I could tell they were the same branches because I could smell the fresh cut wood fragrance. Even my person could smell it, and she doesn’t seem to be able to smell many things.

I checked for other dog’s marks and I didn’t smell any.

Yippee! Here goes! Unmarked territory all for me.

Please avert your eyes from the following picture. It’s kind of personal.

Wow, Bongo, are you sure you want to publish such a personal picture again? This is really very personal! 🙂

Bassetmomma, I was pretty impressed with myself. Now that I’ve marked it though, it’s okay if you send Freddie over to share.

I didn’t mind seeing your “personal” picture. Leaving p-mail is a totally reasonable activity. How else is a dog to know who’s been where?

Trevor always loved to water cut down trees, branches and dead trees on our walks…. those are all yours now! 🙂

    God Bless you!

You may think your picture is a bit too revealing, Bongo, but I argue that what it reveals is your true nature: you are a dog’s dog! And aside from the picture of your lovely snout, this may be the one I like best. You are just as charming from behind as you are from the front 😉

Thanks Mom. I guess I am just being myself.

Okay Bongo, how did you learn that lifting leg thingy?? My doggy needs to learn how to do that marking thingy. He’s all grown up and still does things like a female. You got any 101 How to Lift tips???? 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 16, 2012 at 10:51 pm

Sunshine, I guess it’s all a matter of exercise and balance. Lifting up the leg – one and two and one and two.

Lindy, I think you’re right. I’m getting my days confused. Either that or I have so much mischief that I have to post it on Mondays and other days too.

See, we all knew you’d get your wish eventually, Bongo! But you’re not at all demure about it like Madam L!!! Oh well, it’s more like work for the boys than for the girls. 🙂

      February 17, 2012 at 1:33 pm

Nanina, I’ll have to take Madam Lasagna out on a walk with me and show her how it’s done. What, person? That won’t work? Oh well. Madam L can come on a walk with me anyway.
