Trucks and Cones

10 Feb

Trucks parked behind conesToday when we went to my trails there were two trucks parked at the trailhead. It’s normal to see trucks there, but these trucks had orange cones around them and signs on the cones. I’m thinking they didn’t want dogs to use their trucks as if they were fire hydrants or trees, and if they put the cones out they figured we’d use them instead.

My person read the signs on the cones and said that wasn’t it at all. She said the people in the trucks had gone out to trim trees that had grown up around the power lines a ways out on my trails.

That means they might knock down some branches that no dog has ever been able to reach before. This is my chance to be the first to put my mark on those branches. Let’s go, person. Let’s go find where they’re cutting those trees.

Well, we found the tree cutters but they weren’t cutting anything down. My person said they were probably taking a break.

Give me a break! I was planning to do those guys a favor. When the word gets out that there are unmarked branches, every dog in the neighborhood will be there. If they’d been doing their job so I could do mine, I would have saved them from having to deal with all those crowds.

Bongo, you could always …beg your person to stay out a bit longer so you may do your job like you ought to!

    Hi Bongo!
No Branches and they are on a break? Wow… what a disappointment. Perhaps next time? Trevor loves branches on the trail… hehehe

I wonder why they took a break BEFPRE they had any branches down??? I’m thinking you could have “marked” one of them. That would be new territory. And maybe it would have got them up and working. BWAHAHA!

Winsomebella, my person always spoils all the fun and keeps me from getting into too much trouble. She wouldn’t even let me go near those guys on break.

I admire your sense of adventure Bongo! You’re living life to the fullest. I bet that there’s never a dull moment for your person. Also, I bet you have a lot of doggie friends that are inspired by your curious nature. Anyway, better luck next time. There is always tomorrow. 🙂

Henry, I’ll check for new branches on my walk tomorrow. It’s fun to leave messages for my friends that left messages for me – but I also like exploring brand new territory.

Bongo, this is a random question but since you brought up you marking your territory, well, do you lift your leg to do this? Don’t laugh. My male dog doesn’t know how to do this marking the territory thing. I’ll wait patiently for your answer. Just take your time. No need to rush since you are busy with tree markings and your blog, etc. I’ll just sit here. and wait…

      February 11, 2012 at 12:22 am

Sunshine, most of the time I lift my leg. Sometimes in my yard I don’t because we have cinders on the ground and they’re kind of pokey. If I get one of those things poking into my foot I don’t want to put extra weight on it. Did I overfill you with information?

Oh poor Bongo….but please don’t give up!!! There are still more uncut trees on the pic, so probably the tree cutters will get started cutting them down soon and if you patiently wait for it, you’ll be able to put your mark on the branches! 🙂

Kevin, I guess they’ll eventually get back to work and cut more trees. I just hope they don’t cut down all of them.

Wow Bongo they should have been doing there job. They would have been lucky for you to get the limbs first. I know Lexie & Mica would have like to get them too even if they are girls. They are old enough to always want to be the first or last one there.

Tylers, if those guys ever get to doing their job, I’ll let Lexie and Mica come along and we can do ours.
