Who Stole the Cookies?

20 Feb

Cookie Jar“Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?”

Not me person. I didn’t do it.

“Then who?”

Person, I don’t know. Are you sure my younger person didn’t eat the rest of those cookies? You know how much he likes them.

He wouldn’t what?

__

Lid on the Carpet

Oh.

He might leave the lid on the carpet in the other room. You never know. Maybe he got all excited when he was eating those cookies and forgot what he was doing.

Well, if he didn’t do it, I don’t know who did.

Oh look. There he is. Right by the evidence. Scratchy did it. He’s right there checking it out. Proof that he did it.

Scratchy with the Lid

What? Of course he did. That Scratchy is always up to no good.

Okay, let me check. I bet I can prove it to you.

Bongo with the Lid

Hmmm. I think I left a few crumbs in here.

Bongo, you are very talented. I wish I could get the lid off the cookie jar.

Lola, the lid on this cookie jar is pretty easy to get off. The trick is reaching the jar when it’s way in the back corner of the counter.

Sweet Kitten, I hope you still love me.

Bongo, I still love you very much … As long as you don’t steal my cookies 🙂

Sweet Kitten, I promise I won’t steal your cookies.

Tsk tsk tsk! I’d never be that naughty.

    Love and licks, Winnie

Winnie, you’re big enough. I bet you could reach that cookie jar too.

Hah! You almost got away with the perfect crime. Now you remember what not to do for the next time 😉

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 11:16 am

Jen, I’ve got to remember to leave the cookie jar lid on the counter. Then my person will just think my younger person ate them all. My person made more cookies and stashed them all in a cupboard where I can’t reach them.

Never, never admit guilt Bongo! Good one blaming it on Scratchy and diverting your humans attention! LOL!

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 11:20 am

Bassetmomma, I keep trying to blame Scratchy but for some reason my person never believes me.

Rumpy, someone really needs to take that show off the air. It gets me in trouble every time.

Great rhyme Brown Dawgs. I’m still sticking to my word that Scratchy did it though.

I try the “blame the kitty” thing too. For some reason, it never gets me anywhere either!

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Sage, I think the cats have our people hoodwinked into thinking they are perfect.

Oh Bongo. Sometimes you’ve just got to come clean… furrow your brow and look adorable. They can’t help forgiving you. Trust me, it works.

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 3:42 pm

Flo, my people usually don’t stay mad at me very long. I guess that charm thing does work.

    February 20, 2012 at 3:18 pm

Oh Bongo…You just need to tell your person to make you your own special cookies! That way you don’t have to share or get blamed! But, in a pinch, looking cute and clueless while you blame someone else works too 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 3:44 pm

Love of a Dog, my person made me some cookies once, but I’ve got to get her to do it again. I still like the people cookies too, so I guess I’ll go on blaming Scratchy. Thanks for commenting.

Wonderbutt’s person, my person says if they weren’t so expensive she would definitely do that. I’m glad she’s not. I might really get into trouble.

    Hi Bongo!
This is Ginger the collie with all the answers… always leave a half a cookie in Scratchy’s bed or bowl…. that way scratchy gets the blame and you keep getting cookies! 🙂 Great post, we all loved it!

    Your friend,
    Ginger the naughty collie

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 6:58 pm

Ginger, you do have all the answers. I never would have thought of that, although by the time I remember I may only have a few crumbs left for Scratchy’s bowl. Do you think that will be enough?

  13. Patricia

    February 20, 2012 at 6:31 pm

I think you must learn to put the lid back where you got it. Why would you put it on the carpet anyway? Oh, I know, so Scratchy could play with it and leave his paw prints on it for the crime lab to find. Smart.

    • Bongo

      February 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Patricia, putting the lid back is harder than getting it off, but it does help when Scratchy leaves his paw prints all over it – or at least I thought it would help.

        February 20, 2012 at 7:19 pm

Well, Bongo, we all know it is practically impossible to resist cookies…so your person forgives your lapse of manners I am sure.

      • Bongo

        February 21, 2012 at 12:32 am

Patricia, I usually don’t get into too much trouble – but my person has put the cookies in a cupboard now where I can’t get to them.

Karen, glad you liked my mischief – but I really do have to work on those crumbsmy deals.

Great going Bassa. It doesn’t matter who gets blamed as long as it’s not us dogs.

Angelswhisper, that’s what I say. Who can blame me? I couldn’t help myself.

Oh, no, Bongo!!! Human cookies?! I bet if I ask you “was it worth it?” you’ll say “every last crumb!”, huh?

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 11:36 am

Marina, you’re right. It was worth it to every last crumb – and I’d do it again in a minute. Too bad my person is putting the cookies in a cupboard I can’t reach now.

Bongo, you’re very funny!!! You shouldn’t have checked the bowl! BOL!
I think it could have been Scratchy who stole the cookies because my cat brofur likes human cookies very much. We didn’t know that cats loves cookies until our cat has proved it. 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 11:37 am

Kevin, I’ve got to tell my person what you said. She thinks Scratchy won’t eat cookies. You and I know different.

I think someone should call super dog into this.. he can figure out this case!

      February 21, 2012 at 11:53 am

Viciously Sweet, Super Dog didn’t do it – I mean, yeah that’s a good idea. Super Dog will figure it out. I bet he’ll prove that Scratchy did it.

Ok Bongo, here’s a quick course in thievery: Ya gotta get rid of the evidence! That includes putting the cookie jar back. Guess you’ll just have to practice more…

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 6:42 pm

Sandra, I’ve got to practice putting that lid back on the jar. Then my person will think my younger person ate the cookies and won’t even ask me.
