Where’s the Vandal?

21 Feb

Cairn Knocked Over

This is wrong. This is totally wrong. Someone knocked down the trail marker. Now people are going to get lost on the trails. They’ll go the wrong way.

I’d better investigate. Maybe I can find some clues.

Bongo Checking the Knocked Over Cairn

No unusual smells here.

This one here is still standing, but there’s something strange about it.

Bongo Checking Out Cairn

Look. A clue. What is it person?

A tent bag? You mean the guilty culprit camped out here?

Bongo Checking the Clue

This one’s still standing, but it’s starting to lean over.

Bongo Checking the Leaning Over Cairn

Oh look! Another one down.

Bongo Checking Another Downed Cairn

I think they went that a way.

Bongo Looking Past the Downed Cairn

Hey person. I think I found something. I’ve never seen tracks like this on my trails before.

Horse Shoe Prints

I think this is it. Now I’ve just got to figure out what kind of creature has feet like this.

I know one thing for sure. If I find a creature that went the wrong way, has strange looking feet, and is hanging out inside a dome tent, he’s the guilty one for sure.

good luck finding the culprit Bongo! I hope you can teach them a lesson..

Jaxart4animals, I’m thinking the culprits might get lost because they can’t follow the trail markers any more and teach themselves a lesson.

HaHa!! Yeah, that’ll teach them.. 🙂

With you on the case it surely will be solved before anyone gets seriously lost.

Patricia, I think when I find those culprits I’ll show them how to find the trails again and then make them put the trail markers up right again.

Collies and Chuck, when I catch them I might need your help getting those bad people back in line. What do you think? Are you ready for a ruckus?

Hey Bongo…They could be imprints from a horse (hoof prints). maybe someone on a horse rode by and accidently knocked over the markers. Although the markers looked pretty heavy. I hope you find out who did it.
    Your friend Penny…Woof Woof!

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 4:06 pm

Penny, the only horse I’ve seen on my trails was a miniature horse – not much bigger than me. My person says there are very large horses and she has occasionally seen one on my trails, but I think that horse would have to be pretty klutzy to knock over several trail markers. I’ll keep looking. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hi Bongo… I don’t know, those prints look a little paranatural to me. I hope you don’t get tangled up with some mythical varmint who may be lost, or just sort of clumsy. Best of luck, Bongo.
Oh, before I forget, you have been “tagged” Bongo – details can be found here. Should you choose to accept this mission, your person is certainly welcome to play too. TTFN, Bongo.

BuddhaKat, maybe I will find a confused mythical varmint and help straighten it out. That might be exciting. My person and I will stop by in awhile and check out the tagging thing. It sounds like a new adventure.

Whatever it was, I think it must have been drunk to knock all that down!

      February 21, 2012 at 5:07 pm

Rumpy, you’re probably right – or my person says maybe kids thinking they’re cool. If I find them I’ll have to growl at them – which might be hard for me. I’m used to putting on my charm for everyone.

Hey D.D. (Detective Dog), do you think it might’ve been Big Foot looking for chow?

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Sandra, I hope it’s not Big Foot because if that’s who it is he’s really lost.

Definitely horse tracks Bongo. I think it’s a red herring. Stick to the humans. They do dumb stuff like that.

      February 21, 2012 at 6:46 pm

Nanina, you must be right. That horse would have to be awfully mad to kick over all those heavy trail markers.

    • Bongo

      February 21, 2012 at 11:44 pm

Amy, I guess that iron could kick those things over – but my person says that’s probably not what happened.

Hmmmm….mystery again….your trail is full of mysteries, Bongo! I wonder what footprints they are….
You have to tell us if you found out! 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 22, 2012 at 10:49 am

Kevin, my person says they belong to a horse. The only horse I’ve ever seen on my trails is a miniature horse – not much bigger than me. My person says the horse that belongs to these footprints is probably much bigger. But she says it probably wasn’t the horse who did it – so I have to keep searching.

Keep on the case Bongo. Knocking down trail markers is irresponsible and the culprit needs to be apprehended – though without the markers he/she is probably lost! Search and find detective Bongo!

      February 22, 2012 at 10:51 am

Bassa, I think I might have to go off trail and see if I can find their tent. I’ll keep working on it. Those people really did spoil it for a lot more people – and dogs.

With big feet like that he should be easy to find …neigh!

Patreciau, my person says I was barking up a tree with that clue. We found more of those prints on another part of the trails, but none where the markers were knocked down. Oh, oh – maybe they swept away their prints where they knocked down the trail markers.

Those appear to be the prints of the Three Leaf Clover Monster, Bongo. You better be careful. It is a very angry creature, frustrated that he got gypped that fourth leaf.

    • Bongo

      February 22, 2012 at 8:50 pm

Wonderbutt’s person, yikes! That Three Leaf Clover Monster’s holiday is coming up soon. I may have to find a fourth leaf for him before then or he’ll be really angry.

I’m sorry Bongo Somehow I accidentally hit don’t follow and have been missing you. I agree those prints look like a horse, but I don’t think he knocked down the markers. Those were some big markers. Who ever knocked them down I don’t think was very nice, they lead the way and were very pretty. I hope you find whoever did that. BTW those are beautiful pictures.

Lexie, Mica and Mom, my person agrees that the horse probably didn’t knock down the markers. I’m still looking for the culprits, but so far with no luck. Thanks for realizing you missed me and coming back.
