Hey person, what’s that stuff?
It’s a what? A gas can and a container for chain saw lubricant? By why would someone leave those on my trails?
You’re supposed to know that, person. Don’t you know everything?
Then that means I have another mystery to solve. There seem to be a lot of mysterious things happening on my trails.
I think it means somebody took a chain saw out on my trails. But why?
What if they’re planning to cut down trees and steal them? I’d better keep an eye out for people carrying logs. They’d be easy to spot because they’d have a chain saw too.
Or maybe they’re scared of wild animals and brought a chain saw with them to defend themselves. I’d better warn all those mountain lions and javelina to stay away from those guys. Don’t attack the guy with the chain saw.
Oh no – what if – what if somebody watched too many scary movies and now they’re lurking on my trails with a chainsaw? Stay behind me person. I’d better protect you just in case.
Hey person, look at this. All the gas leaked out of the gas can. Those people who think they’re going to cause all that trouble with the chainsaw are going to be disappointed. They can’t start it because it’s missing all its gas.

Another mystery for you to solve Bongo! Your life as a dogtective is getting very exciting. I think you should be the Deputy Dawg of those trails! Just be careful that leaky gas can be dangerous!

Bongo, maybe the owner of those mystery items will see the determined dog detective’s tracks and know they are being watched – and hightail it out of there. Be cautious around odd smelling spots on the ground around those containers – you don’t want to get that stuff on your feet or nose!

Karen, I guess I was lucky that stuff didn’t run too far. It mostly stayed on that rock. And I think I did scare them out of there.
