Not My Fault

28 Feb

Bongo Heading Back on the TrailHey person, you’re going the wrong way. This way takes us back home sooner. We can take this trail.

You’re what? You’re not limping. Let’s go for a longer walk.

What do you mean, it’s my fault?

You could have let me off my leash yesterday so I could get to my swimming hole faster. So it was your fault. You didn’t let me off my leash.

Or you could have run down that steep trail. That way I wouldn’t have been pulling you.

I can’t help it if you started slipping on those loose rocks on that steep trail. I bet you would have slipped even if I wasn’t pulling you.

So I’m getting blamed and punished. Just because we got to go on a long hike yesterday you’re making me have a shorter walk today. No fair!

Oh look person. It’s my friend Timmy. Can I go over and say hi to him?

What? You mean if we had gone on our normal walk I wouldn’t have seen Timmy today? Yeah, I guess you’re right.

Timmy and Bongo

But person, he kissed me. And he’s not even a cute girl.

Sweet Kitten, please don’t tell anybody. Timmy is my good friend though. He lives across the street from me.

Bongo, please be careful. If you pull your person over they might hurt themselves and be unable to take you out for walks – think of yourself! 🙂

Bassa, you’re right – as always, you have such good advice. If I hurt my person I won’t get any walks. It’s a good thing she’s almost better now.

Patreciau, Timmy is a good buddy, but he doesn’t get into as much mischief as me.

It’s hard when our people get injured. They’re so fragile… I guess we have to look out for them. Like Bassa says, if we take care of them, we’re taking care of ourselves, too.

Lola, I guess I’d better start being more careful with my person. I don’t like missing walks.

Bongo my dog Oliver gets super excited sometimes. too. I know its hard for you guys to contain yourselves when something awesome like a water hole is in sight. Glad you got to see your friend Timmy and give your person some extra love for taking you on awesome walks.

Bold Wandering, sometimes it’s really hard to stay calm. I’m glad Oliver can relate. It was fun getting to see Timmy on my trails though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Oh Bongo! You must have tolerance for your person! People are not good at slipping! Hope your person feels better soon!

Viciously Sweet, I try but sometimes my person goes so slow. She say her leg is pretty much better now – and she says thank you for your concern.

Hmmm…..I think I’ve heard you say “it’s not my fault” before Bongo. LOL! Sometimes you just have to accept the blame and move on. And look you got to meet your friend! 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 29, 2012 at 12:13 am

Bassetmomma, I guess sometimes punishment turns out to be reward. I guess it’s not so bad to take the blame when that happens.

It’s not your fault Bongo, sometimes we walk too fast and Mom or Dad slip on mud or small rocks. We’re always sorry because we don’t want them to slip, we just get excited. But it’s not their fault either because sometimes there are other people or dogs and we’re required to be on lead. I’m glad you still got a small walk and met a friend:-)

Lexie and Mica, I guess you know how hard it is to control yourself when you’re excited. My person is better now so I don’t feel so bad.

Bongo, I’m glad your person is feeling better now, it can hurt a lot when you sprain:( At least you saw your friend Timmy… ok, he kissed you, but you know, Bongo, in any advantage is a disadvantage (I hope I say it right in English) 🙂

    • Bongo

      February 29, 2012 at 10:53 am

Angels Whisper, my person says thanks. And I guess Timmy means well. Maybe he’s just a little confused. He’s still my friend.

A kiss from Timmy?? Yikees! Yesterday my mom was walking so slow up the hill and I was having to pull her along….and I am just a small little fella!! Sometimes our humans can be so slow!

      February 29, 2012 at 10:55 am

Higgins, I’m with you on that slow human thing. My person hardly ever goes as fast as I want to go. Here’s a trick though. Pull your mom down the hill, but take it easy going uphill. It takes too much energy to pull someone uphill.

Oh no…I’m sorry to hear about your person, Bongo. I hope that she’ll fully recover before long. *pawhugs for your person*
Woohoo…Timmy looks very cute boy and fluffy! Don’t be shy, Bongo! My best friend is a male dog who I know since I was a little and we often kiss each other when we meet!!! Heeheeheee…. 🙂

Kevin, I guess I’m not weird then because I got kissed by Timmy. Thanks for making me feel better. My person says thanks for thinking of her. Her leg is better now.

oH, oH . . . Bongo, you have to go over and lick your persons sore spot. I read dog’s spit has healing properties (ewww) and give her lots of love. She’ll be better real soon. There are some dogs who do this over at the nursing home. The people who get visited look like they feel better when the furry friends visit. 🙂 See ya!

Sunshine, my person says she’s better now and she thanks you for thinking of her. I think I’ll go lick her anyway.

Great pics! I know all about that pulling thing, Bongo. Always a shorter walk after a pulling day. Timmy looks like a cool friend to have. Looks wise.

Leslie, Timmy must be very wise because he’s old and just plods along – but he’s very nice.
