My person did it again. She went off and left me and found another dog to take pictures of. I think I’m going to fix my person’s camera so it only takes a picture when I’m in it.
My person said she didn’t mean to find a dog. She said she wasn’t looking for another dog. She just happened to find one. I’m not sure if I believe her.
She said she was walking with some friends in a strange neighborhood. Any neighborhood that isn’t mine is strange – and I don’t know what my person was doing walking somewhere other than my trails.
She said she just happened to see Riley standing next to his sign and she said it was too good not to take a picture.
I guess that wouldn’t have been so bad, her taking a picture and all – but you know what she did then? She went onto Riley’s rocks and said hi to him. She didn’t have to do that.
My person did say that Riley was very interested in checking me out. I guess my person does love me. She takes me everywhere even when she leaves me at home.
I think next time though, I’d better go with my person for real and teach Riley how to jump that electric fence.

Bongo, I’ve got an electric fence too and a lot of times my neighborhood buddies go by for walks & it makes me crazy cause I can’t go with them. Used to be with the old collars, if you hung out just at the line where you start to get the buzz, it would wear the battery down & then you could just walk right out! The company fixed what they call “the problem” so that doesn’t work any more but if you go see Riley, tell him to give it a try. Happy Easter Bongo – Lola

Lola, that’s a drag that the company fixed your way of escape. I’ve never had an electric fence because my back yard has a tall fence – but I learned I can get over it. Now my person won’t let me stay out in the yard unless she’s with me. Happy Easter to you too.

Wow! You must have a cape! I can’t see your chest but I bet there’s a great big “S” on it.

Your person was right, it was too good not to take a picture!
I’m glad she did. 😛

Dianda, it was a pretty unique situation.

Sorry Bongo but I have to side with your person on this one. I would have stopped to take that picture too! That’s just too good to pass up. Maybe you should make up a cute sign for yourself and your person can take a picture of you next to your sign! 🙂

Laurie, my person says she thought of you when she took that picture. That’s a good idea. I should make myself a sign. I might have to get my person to help me though.

Jackie, I hate to admit it, but I guess I can’t get too upset with my person for taking Riley’s picture.

As cute as Riley is, we’re sure you’re still number #1 in your person’s heart. You’ll be the star that you are in front of the camera again before you know it. 🙂

🙂 Go for it! Is that cat still stealing your water?

Bella and DiDi, Scratchy steals some of my water every day. At least he moves the bowl to make noise so my person knows to fill it up.

Electric fences scare me. It’s like a leash with an attitude – a BAD attitude!

Hey Bongo! For some reason I have not been getting your blog on my notifier thingy. I thought maybe you were on vacation or something. Any way, I unfollowed and then followed again–hope that works. Bummer not seeing you!

Thanks Patricia for noticing you were missing me. I’ve been having the same problems with some of the blogs I follow – although lately my person has been so busy that she hasn’t had time to read my friend’s blogs. She says she should be caught up soon and back to having time to read blogs again.

Wonderbutt, I think we need to put up some signs too. It looks like it’s a great attention getter.

Awwww…. that’s cute! And that way people who want to play with the dog can while those that are afraid can walk on without being scared.

Rumpy, my person said it was nice to know that it was okay to play with Riley. I think she should have stayed home and played with me though.

Bongo, I don’t get it, I know the meaning of ‘electric fence’ but don’t understand why Riley has the one? Is he dangerous? or not to be kidnapped ? Or in US, electric fence is popular? very mysterious……Woof?
Bongo
April 6, 2012 at 12:44 am
Kevin, the electric fence is to keep Riley from leaving his yard. Riley has to wear a special collar that gives him a little shock if he gets too close to the electric fence. Without the collar you can pass through it without any problem. Only a small percentage of dogs here have electric fences, but they are common enough that most people know what they are.

Thanks for the explanation, Bongo! Very interesting as we haven’t seen electric fences in Japan. Maybe…someday we might have it here, too? 🙂
Bongo
April 6, 2012 at 12:01 pm
Kevin, all you can see of the electric fence are small metal posts with white plastic flags on the top. They only stick out of the ground about six inches or so. My person didn’t get them in the picture.

Angels Whisper, I bet Riley would love being free. We could go running off together – and not come back until we’re tired and hungry.

If your going to look for places to take pictures you have to walk somewhere new. You would not know you were going to see a dog. I love this picture of Riley and his sign, I don’t think you could walk by and not take a picture! I just hope some dog gets to go in Riley’s rocks and play with him, he needs that.

Lexie and Mica, I wish my person would take me to Riley’s neighborhood. I would love to play with him. I think we might mess up his rocks though.
