Awhile back I was really worried about the big snake in my yard. I was afraid that it was going to reach out and get me when I wasn’t looking.
Well, I think that snake got something, but I’m not sure what. Whatever it was, that snake didn’t know when to quit. It ate and ate and it got so full it couldn’t even stand up anymore.
.
.
.
.
.
Look what happened to it.
And there were other snakes too.
There must have been some really good snake food because whatever it was, they all ate it.
I think it might have been popcorn they ate, and when they were hanging out in the sun it popped inside them.
Whatever it was, I’m glad they ate it because now they’re so heavy that they’ll never be able to get me. I can move faster than all of them.
But I think I learned something from this. No more popcorn for me. Can you imagine what I’d look like if it popped inside me?
Nope. I’m leaving it out for snake bait.

Ah, Bongo, it’s good to hear you don’t belong to this all too familiar [to me] category of food motivated dogs! Those snakes look like “food motivated” don’t they?!

Marina, I like food a lot, but maybe a nice juicy steak would be better than popcorn. I’ll let the snakes eat that.

Chancy and Mumsy, those snakes are all over my yard. My younger person likes to chop them down with a machete though, so I’ll be safe from them soon. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Those are some freaky popcorn-eating snakes! I think I would hide in the kitchen next to the stove till they were all machete-ed
Love and licks,

Cupcake, I try to stay away from those things. My younger person has been getting his machete out though. There’s less of them now.

Bassetmomma, at least they can’t move very fast now that they’re so big. I keep my distance though.

Sorry we are a couple days delayed dear Bongo! Something came up but we are back now. Wow, those snakes are huge and lil Hallie says attack!!!! You should spread lots of popcorn around with snakes like that in your yard! 🙂
Lots of collie hugs,
the collies and chuck 🙂

Collies and Chuck, I think lil Hallie better come over here and help me attack those snakes. And then I’ll make sure my yard is full of popcorn in case any more snakes try to sneak in. But I’m not eating any of it.

Penny, I’m okay as long as I make sure those snakes have their supply of popcorn so they eat that and not me.

Are you sure they’re not just drunk?
Bongo
June 11, 2012 at 9:21 pm
Rumpy, they could be drunk but we haven’t had any rain in days. Maybe one of my neighbors came over and gave them something when we weren’t looking.

Hey Bongo, Jet here.
Dude, are you sure they weren’t asparagus on steroids? Your person gives you popcorn??? MOMMMMMMMMM……
Bongo
June 11, 2012 at 9:22 pm
Hey Jet, my person doesn’t give me popcorn, but one time I stole some and ate it. Never again. But if those things are asparagus one of them would last you all year.

OMD! Yes! Those snakes must have eaten lots of popcorn! Wow…I didn’t know that popcorn is such scary food….they look much more gorgeous after eating popcorn though… Wait! Hmmm…like Rumpy said, they also seem to get drunk…Oh no..those snake might have a party with alcohol and lots of popcorn!? You might be invited to the party someday, Bongo!!! Be careful!!! 🙂

Kevin, If those snakes invite me to their party I’ll have to turn down the invitation. They look like they get far too rowdy for me.

I can imagine how it will look inside of you if you ate the popcorn, and I think I can imagine how it would sound like too, Bongo 😉 I’ve told you I also have a Yucca in my garden, but now I also know why there sometimes no snakes in it and when they come they’re not so big… I’ll feed them popcorn immediately. That’s an amazing picture your person made of the Yucca and the moon.

Thanks Angels Whisper. Get out that popcorn. Those yuccas really like it – at least the ones in my yard do.

Karen, I’ll just keep putting out more popcorn. My person says I might be able to save the popcorn until next year though.

Those are greedy snakes Bongo and there are so many of them. We don’t think we ever want to meet those. How long do they last, all summer?
Bongo
June 12, 2012 at 9:38 pm
Lexie and Mica, the snakes are dropping their popcorn now. The tall thing in the center gets dry and turns like wood and stays there until my people cut them off. They usually try to cut them off before the seed pods open up so we don’t have even more snakes invading.

Jen, I’m careful not to go near all those snakes even if they are so full of popcorn that they can’t move very fast.
