Take Your Dog to Work Day

21 Jun

Bongo's HeadWoo woo! Tomorrow is June 22nd and you know what day that is? It’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day. But I think that should be changed to International Take Your Dog to Work Day because some of my dog friends live in other countries.

So person, are you going to take me to work with you? Huh, huh, huh? I’m all ready to be taken to work. I could even help you.

Where are you going to take me? We could go hang out at the church where you work. Maybe I could play with some of those kids you teach Sunday school to.

Or that place where you meet to lead your Bible study. What is that place? That place with all the stars and the bucks? Are those the dollar kind of bucks or the deer kind of bucks? Could you take me there so I can find out? Maybe I could get rich there – or at least have something to chase around while you’re studying all those Bibles under the stars.

Wait a minute! What!?? You’re taking me to work but I don’t get to go anywhere? I don’t get it.

You’re working at home tomorrow? That’s no fair.

Can you take the day off so we can go somewhere?

My person works at home, too, so I won’t go anywhere tomorrow. But I have been to the place with the stars and the bucks. It’s pretty fun. You get to sit in the shade and make friends will all of the people who come to buy coffee. I hope you get to go there.

Lola, my person says she’s not going to the stars and the bucks place tomorrow, but I’ll have to get after her to take me next time she goes. It sounds like a lot of fun. By the way, there’s a Dog Party in San Diego tomorrow too. It’ll be in my post tomorrow.

We missed the party. 🙂 If they have one next year, we’ll be sure to go.

Lola, I might have to come over and go to the party with you next year.

Aargh! Welcome to my world, Bongo. Mom works at home, too. I wish she was still a 3rd grade teacher. THAT would be the best place to spend the day!!

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, hanging out with 3rd grade kids would be the most fun. But I guess it’s kind of nice having our people home with us.

Poor Bongo……all excited and no where to go. That is definitely not fair! People should take their dogs to work…I used to when I was manager at a gas station. I took Tramp Dog and Spot Dog and they slept all day under my desk. Tell your person that working at home does not count. If I were you I’d kick up a stink!

Patreciau, I might have to tell my person to get a different job. One where there’s lots of people and dogs are allowed.

Note from Litchi, try doing it my way and get your mom to realise she needs you in her job, to help other dogs, children, people etc

Litchi, good idea. I could be a great help to people. Just today my person was at a photo session for a band that she’s friends with and one of the guys said I should be there in the pictures. I would have livened things up for them.

I wish we had that in the UK, I’d LOVE to go to work with my humans!

Misaki, I don’t know how many dogs in the U.S. really get to celebrate this holiday, but I think they should do it all over the world.

Misty Shores, I hope she does. I’m ready for an adventure.

Misty Shores, I’m looking for those bugs. I think they might be hiding from the heat right now though.

It’s not take your dog to work day in Australia so we’ve changed it to encourage your mumma to work from home day. And she totally brought it! Woo woo. Beary & Bella xox

    • Bongo

      June 21, 2012 at 4:57 pm

Beary and Bella, work at home day is almost as good as getting to go to work with your mumma.

Almost Bongo, except that there would be SO many new sniffs at her work!

      • Bongo

        June 21, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Beary and Bella, I forgot about all those new sniffs. I always like going to a new place for the sniffs.

I go to work with tall person every day Bongo. It’s not far – he works from his office at home 🙂 We also work together on our walks through our neighborhood – that is one big office! 🙂

    • Bongo

      June 21, 2012 at 9:30 pm

Bassa, I like your neighborhood office. It’s kind of like my trails – but different. It’s cool when we get to hang out with our people while they work.

I work at a Healthfood store, but my Wife works at Home….She Penny is already at the work place…Woof Woof!

    • Bongo

      June 21, 2012 at 9:32 pm

Penny, us dogs that get to hang out with our people when they work are really lucky. Now you just have to get your other person to work at home too.

Thanks Monica. I’ll probably hang out and sleep a lot – until my person takes me out on my trails.

Aren’t you at your person’s workplace every day, Bongo?

I hope you enjoy the day wherever you spend it. 🙂

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 12:15 am

Nel, I get to hang out with my person whenever she works at home. Sometimes she has to go somewhere else though, and I haven’t been able to talk her into taking me with her.

Maybe you are even luckier Bongo. Work places usually aren’t much fun you know… For our dog, this is every day. I take her with me to my little workshop [in a small shopping mall] but I see her a bit reluctant to leave the house lately… She’s missing the home comforts of the sofas I guess!

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 12:19 am

Marina, maybe you could get a little sofa for your dog at your workshop. I’m not allowed to get on the sofas at home so I guess it doesn’t matter where I hang out.

      • marina kanavaki

        June 22, 2012 at 3:23 am

She already has her own little “sofa” spots, but not a grandiose as home’s!

O, Bongo, I know you’re a little dissappointed. Nothing is more exciteting then going to another place and seeing different people, but your person works at home on that special day, that’s sad. But don’t give up hope, maybe she’ll surprise you anyway on this special day 😉

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 11:13 pm

Angels Whisper, I think I’m going to find my person a new job. One where dogs are allowed and there’s lots of people to give me loves.

The collies wish they could go with me to work, but can you imagine what would happen with them in a Meat Department? LOL….

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 11:16 pm

Chuck, you should definitely take the collies with you. They would have a blast. On second thought, take me instead.

Well, sweet Bongo I have to stay home too, Mumsy is so old she is retired and stays home all the time. Hugs and nose kisses

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 11:17 pm

Chancy, it’s fun to get to go places, but I guess it’s really nice to have our people home with us most of the time.

    Hey Bongo, Jet here.

Dude, I think you should request an IOU! My mom texted her employer and he never responded so we had to stay home… BUMMER…

    • Bongo

      June 22, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Hey Jet, looks like we both need an IOU.

I’m sorry that you didn’t have any occation to go to your person’s working place as she worked at home yesterday, but wasn’t it much better…no? I wish my mom worked at home sometimes, then we could spend much more time with her…….

    • Bongo

      June 23, 2012 at 9:38 pm

Kevin, it is nice having my person at home most of the time. Especially since she says she wouldn’t trust me if she took me to a work place. I don’t know why. I’d be good.
