Creatures in Cracks

20 Jun

Teabag on the ground and Bongo with his nose in a crack in the rockCheck this out. I found some really strange things on my trails. A plastic bag thingy and a metal box. And both of them are close to cracks in the rocks.

You know what that means. It means there are creatures that live deep down in those cracks, and they’re cleaning house. They’re moving stuff out that they don’t want any more.

Someone needs to tell those crack creatures about littering. Just because they don’t want something in their house doesn’t mean they have to leave it cluttering up my trails.

After all, what if all the creatures who live in cracks around here started cleaning house at the same time. Can you imagine what a mess that would be? Plastic bag thingies and metal boxes all over the place. They might even start throwing out dust bunnies and single socks. That could make a big mess on my trails.

I wonder how far down in the cracks those creatures live. I’d better see if I can get to them and give them what for.

Then I’m going to make them take all their stuff back and put it in garbage cans so the crack creature garbage truck can stop by to pick it up.

Thanks Patreciau. Nobody should be messing with my trails – even if they live in the cracks on the trails.

There are creatures that live in the cracks and they are called ants and they are driving me crazy*! …errr but that’s not what you meant, was it? What a good boy you are Bongo! I’m very proud of you.

Marina, we have lots of ants here too, but I don’t think they could move those things I found. So far they haven’t invaded our house but they usually do it once or twice every summer.

Here too! Thankfully they are still on our balcony [not inside yet] but unlike other years when they showed a dislike to cinnamon or lavender, this year they don’t seem to mind it at all! I don’t wish them harm however…

Marina, the only thing that seems to work for an ant invasion here are those baits that they take back to their nest. My person doesn’t like to harm them either but she says enough is enough. She never tried cinnamon or lavender though. That would be much more pleasant if it worked.

You know Bongo, I’ve got lots of chipmunks here and they’re always stealing bird food but one day one of them grabbed one of my little flags that marks my special fence line & stuffed it right down it’s little chipmunk hole! Folded it up just like a parachute… I think they like to make it homey.

Diane, that is too funny – one of those pesky chipmunks stealing your flag. Watch out though for when they start cleaning house. You never know what they’ll throw out.

I so wish I had a video of that. I saw him run up the hill, rip the little flag off the wire & then when he started bunching it all up pulling it into his hole I just couldn’t stop laughing. I said to my husband “what do you think he even wants that for?” maybe a wall hanging.

Diane, my person says she wishes us animals would warn you people when we’re going to do something funny so you can have your cameras ready.

That is very conscientious of you to want to keep your trails clean for all to enjoy, keep up the good work 🙂

Misty Shores, I really like my trails clean and tidy – but I’ll look to see if I can find a really cool bug for you.

Penny, I just wish those creatures would throw out some tastier trash though. Then I’d clean it up myself.

What is it with crack creatures? They better get some crack creature conscience and clean up there crack crud! Maybe now that you have been around they will shape up or crawl away.

Patricia, I hope they take their stuff back down their crack when they crawl away and leave it there.

Bongo, I think you’re a great dog by cleaning up other peoples’ mess. At least you know how it should be. I’ll give you an extra hug 🙂

Yes Bongo, you should teach those crack creatures about littering or they might continue throwing the stuff they don’t want anymore! Oh no!!! Poor your trails!!!

      June 21, 2012 at 10:59 am

Kevin, I think I’ll have to give those crack creatures what for. There are a lot of cracks on my trails, so there could be a serious mess is something isn’t done about it.

Now we know why we see so much litter around sweet Bongo. Those crack creatures need to pick up after themselves. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, those crack creatures certainly need to respect my trails. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

    Hey Bongo, Jet here.

Just read that Bassas Blog comment… BOL!

You are a clever one, dude… I think you should send the crack creatures a memo about littering for sure!

Sunshine, that would explain the mystery. Oh yeah, my person has been missing you and was just about to look you up. She has been using the word “busy” a lot and hasn’t had much time to visit my friend’s blogs either.
