Strange Thunder

28 Jun

BongoThis morning I really thought the thunder season was upon me. It startled me out of my sleep. I woke up because some of the normal sounds in the house stopped. The fan that my younger person runs at night stopped running and he never gets up that time of the morning. The house was silent – except for a few unusual beeps that I don’t hear very often.

Then all of a sudden I heard a loud crack. I was convinced that thunder was on its way – ready to attack me at any minute.

I got up and tried to figure out how I would escape it if it made that sound again. By now it was beginning to smell too. An electrical kind of smell filled the air – way stronger than a regular thunderstorm. I really started getting worried.

Then the normal noises in our house returned – the loud crack didn’t come back – and the electric smell finally faded.

Whew!

My person said the loud crack sounded like a gunshot, but is also the sound a transformer makes sometimes when it blows.

Transformers? Aren’t transformers those robot things that change? Maybe it was a good thing that one of them blew up.

Dianda, I wonder if there are transformers running around on my trails. I’d better keep a lookout.

Some very scary things going on there Bongo. You mention you’ve got an anxiety vest – how does that work out for you?

Diane, it helps calm me some. My person got it at the end of last thunder season so I still have some testing to do. But it has helped me through a few storms. I still don’t like them though.

Kevin, we had a transformer blow up right near our house a few months ago and the power went out for awhile. Someone must be protecting us from those transformers though. They always seem to blow up when they get close to our house.

Maybe the Transformer is what is littering your trails…bad all the way round! Sorry about the scary time though. When we get scared here we go to bed.

Patricia, maybe that Transformer was littering my trails and someone else gave him what for.

That sounds scary, Bongo! Do you think the transformers blew up their residence, because they know that you know who they are?

Angels Whisper, you never know with those transformers. I hope they haven’t taken up residence on my trails now.

Maybe it was actually a Decepticon and a Transformer blew it up to protect your house??
    Either way, glad you’re safe!

Misaki, whatever it is, it sounds like strange things are going on around here.

Sounds scary! (The German is shivering just hearing about it). Bongo, some of those transformers spit hot oil, so be careful in that area. (maybe that just happens here because of the extreme heat?)
    Can’t trust a transformer…

German, the transformer seems to be gone now so you can stop shivering. Sometimes all it takes is a pesky squirrel to take on out.

Chancy and Mumsy, those thunder boomers are the worst. We had some a couple days ago. I was not a happy camper.

That’s what we had Friday Bongo The winds came and were really strong and trees started going down all over. Then came thunder and our house went totally quiet. Mica and Lexie are very nervous during thunder, but Lexie gets panicky when the house gets quiet she really doesn’t like that. Luckily our noise come back on later, but there are hundreds of thousands that are still quiet. I’m glad yours is better.

Lexie and Mica, I don’t like those storms at all. We had one the other day with rumbles in the distance. I was nervous but I really get scared when those loud ones crack right over our house. I’m glad your noise came back on again. It’s not right when the house is too quiet.

Oh, Bongo this sounds terrible! I think you handled that bravely! I don’t know what I would have done! I know our dog would have jumped straight on our pillow [not bothering to see if our heads were on it!] and then start scratching the sheets!

Marina, I was afraid my person would throw me off the bed if I jumped on her, so I checked out the corners of the room to make sure nothing was coming in.
