This is real embarrassing. I hardly want to tell you about it – but my people were so full of mischief this weekend that I’ve got to.
Sunday afternoon I was starting to get a little nervous. There were some distant thunderstorms and I don’t like them at all. My person said she couldn’t even hear the thunder, but she knew something was going on by the way I was acting.
So what did she do? She tried to leave the house without me. I don’t like it when she leaves me during a thunderstorm so I do my best to get out of the house with her. Well, she tricked me and got out anyway.
Really, I kind of let her trick me because my younger person was still in the house so I wasn’t all alone.
Well, those thunderstorms kept on going and then, you know what? You’re not going to believe this.
My younger person decided he was going to leave the house too. I certainly wasn’t going to let him leave the house without me. If I had anything to say about it my younger person was going to stay right where he was.
And then he did it! He took some tow rope and tied me up to the wood stove so I couldn’t leave the house with him. If that isn’t mischief I don’t know what is!
At least my person showed up at the house a few minutes later. But you know what she did? She refused to untie me until she got her camera out and took pictures.
If my people are going to get into mischief, they could at least find somebody else to embarrass.

If you want to see what my person looks like, check this out. We both got to be guests on another blog today. Check it out here.

Thanks Marina. I think my younger person cares more about the house – although I guess I do sometimes get hurt when I try to break down the doors during a thunderstorm.

Hey, Bongo, are you sure you got tied up, because of the mischievous thing?? Looks like they put you on work 🙂
I’ve red your interview, and I enjoyed it. Your person is very good-looking. It’s nice to see your person in “real”.

Thanks Angels Whisper. I think I’ve got to watch it – my people are learning to be mischievous from me.

Bongo good thing your person came home before you pulled that wood stove right out! When my family goes away I go stay w/my buddy Harry (we call it Club Harry cause he always shares his food with me). One night we were having steak & my butt got so happy I kinda broke the handle off his wood stove. You know they just don’t make things very well anymore…Lola

Lola, I wish I had a buddy Harry who would share steak with me. That sounds like a great friend. I’m thinking if there was a thunderstorm I might do some damage to our wood stove but luckily there wasn’t a storm before my person came home and untied me.

Well now Bonbo, seems like I had a little issue last night…ok it was 3:00 am this morning because we had some very scary thunder & lightening come through & I was a little afraid that Diane wouldn’t wake up to know about it so I had to wake her up. Then I guess she had a little slide in the kitchen this morning when she wanted her coffee because someone had drooled all over the floor.

July 24, 2012 at 9:45 pm
Lola, that must have been a big storm because it was at my house too. I’m glad I’m not the only one who drools when it thunders.

Oh poor Bongo how could they! Don’y they know it would be safer for the house, uh I mean if they stayed with you 🙂
Bongo
July 23, 2012 at 8:46 pm
Misty Shores, it would be better if my people always stayed with me. I’m still trying to convince them that’s where they need to be. At least my person was with me for the really bad storm we had earlier today.

Just so unfair! Lucky your person appeared shortly – or you might have done a bit of remodeling!

Karen, I wonder if I could drag that wood stove across the room.

Never doubt what a determined dog is able to do ( how are those legs attached? Screwed on or welded?)
(The German loves her double paned windows….but still under the bed beckons…)

Karen, those legs are screwed on. I’m sure I could pull the screws out if I worked at it.

Awww….how mean. I mean, you could have at least been tied to the couch so you could have seen where they went 🙂
Bongo
July 23, 2012 at 8:52 pm
Adventureweiner, the couch would have been much more comfortable – and I could have maybe destroyed the window blinds if I got really upset. I’ll put in my vote for the couch next time.

I bet if you tried you could move that ole wood stove and made a great mess and all their fault. Like seeing the picture of you and your person on the other blog. Always nice to put a face with a person.

Thanks Patricia. I’m going to work on dragging that wood stove next time.

Oh Bongo that is terrible, we know how much you hate thunder because we do too, Your young person dhould not have tied you and left you there alone. But we want you to know that being in a car (even with our people) is much worse for us than being home alone. That was the most terrifying 😦
Bongo
July 24, 2012 at 9:27 pm
Lexie and Mica, you don’t like the car? I don’t really like long trips, but we usually end up somewhere fun at the end of it. And besides, you can’t hear the thunder as well when the car is moving.

July 24, 2012 at 10:45 pm
Sorry Bongo we love the car and rides, but not with thunder. There is just no place in the car that is small and closed in away from the storm. The whole back is windows, it just seems so much closer 😦

July 24, 2012 at 11:03 pm
Lexie and Mica, I get it. It looks like that storm is going to come right in and get you.

You got a lot of thunderstorms there!

July 24, 2012 at 9:32 pm
Dianda, in July and August we get tons of thunderstorms and this year seems to be one of the worst so far. The rest of the year we don’t have much thunder so I guess I’ll just hide in a hole until they’re over.

I hear ya, B. I get tied up a LOT. When we’re outside, Mom ties me to a cinder block. Aargh. My image around the neighborhood is ruined. At least you were tied inside the house (I’ve been there, too!), so nobody could see you…. Oh yeah… except for the photo which will be viewed by tons of people. Ugh!
Love and licks,

Oh, thunderstorm season is painful. I feel a bit sad about you getting this nervous. I send a big hug to you, I hope you can grow stronger 🙂

YouKai, my person likes to hide from pictures so it’s good that there’s finally a photo of me and her. Thanks for the hug. This is not my favorite time of year because we have so many thunderstorms. In the fall they will all go away.

Why does your mom seem to leave you every time there is a thunderstorm Bongo?
Bongo
July 26, 2012 at 1:06 pm
Bassa, I think she’s trying to run away from those storms and she forgets about me. Actually, she told me I have to tell you that she does stay with me during most of the storms. We just get a lot of them this time of year, and this year seems to be especially bad.
