Dots, Dots, and Hats

02 Oct
Bongo Behind Bars

I’m stuck at the dog hotel and I take no responsibility for what’s posted here.

The other day I was walking on my trails and I saw a pile of dots.

.

Two Airsoft Pellets

Orange Airsoft Pellet

I’ve seen these things on my trails before, but now there were a lot more. My person says my younger person used to shoot dots like this out of his airsoft gun.

Now I remember. I used to go jumping after that gun every time he shot it off.

So that mystery was solved and I headed down the trail with my person.

But a new mystery was about to develop. Because I saw more dots – and these weren’t the same kind of dots at all.

Dot Mushroom

One dot here.

Dot Mushrooms

Two dots there.

Double Dot Mushrooms

Oh no! Double dots.

Dot Mushroom Surrounded by Twigs

And this dot’s surrounded!

I put on my Detective Dog hat and started sleuthing around. And just when I thought I was getting to the bottom of this…

Is somebody making fun of me?

Hat Shaped Mushroom

Two Hat Shaped Mushrooms

Those dots turned to hats.

I’m putting my paw down on this one.

Marina, I found transformer cactus on my trails last spring. I guess there are transformer dots too.

Dot invasion? Spotty information on that.
(Bongo, nice of you to take time out of your party-party retreat to post a sad guilt-trip photo…that should make them hurry home?)
(Oh, RC says, “try not to bulk up to much in the weight room – simply not attractive – sleek is chic!”)

Karen and RC, you figured me out. I’m trying to pull the guilt trip with that photo. I think I’ll get out on the track and run rather than do the weight room. That will keep me sleek.

Misaki, I hope those dots don’t disappear before I can get back to them.

Bassetmomma, we do have some pretty cool dots and things on my trails. I’m hoping I get out of this dog hotel soon too so I can get back to my trails.

Bongo for once I can teach you something the weird dots are puff ball mushrooms, and if picked correctly by the right light of the moon, facing in the corrcet direction and that kinda thing they can be eaten!!!
But you has to be very careful so I wouldn’t recommend it! Typist picked one once with her other half, and once they had done proper research on the tinternet to ensure it was ok (cause it isn’t always ok to eat em) she thought the safest way to be certain was to feed it to the long suffering ‘Other half’ first!

Dalton, my person said I’d better not try to eat those just in case – and since they don’t smell much anyway I’ll listen to her this time.

I would! Unless you think she wants it herself?!

OMD! Those dots are edible? Woof?

Kevin, my person won’t let me eat them because they might be poison. They don’t smell very good anyway.

Misty Shores, those dots and hats sure are confusing – but I’ll put on my Detective Dog hat and figure them out.

Bongo we have those dots and the hats on our woods walk, mom tells us to leave them alone. Last time we had a really big white dot, it was bigger than a softball !! Really weird.

Lexie and Mica, we had some big white dots here too – but not that big. We don’t normally get them on my trails, but my person says it’s probably because we had so much rain this summer.

Bassa, those aliens can come in the strangest forms. That’s what they must be.

Poor Bongo, still in -jail-… the hotel, eh! Don’t eat the hats, Bongo, they might be poisoned.

Angels Whisper, those hats are lucky that they don’t smell that good – so I haven’t tried to eat them.
