Cactus Maintenance

18 Oct

Bongo eating weeds near cactusHey person, don’t worry. This cactus isn’t going to attack me.

Yeah, I know my ear is getting kind of close to it. But believe me, it’s not going to attack.

I’ve got to clear out all these weeds in front of it. This cactus is really special and it doesn’t want to be covered up.

Just a little bit longer, person. You can go ahead and go if you want. Don’t worry, I’ll catch up with you.

Fine, you can wait here if you want, but I’m not quite done. Just a few more bites.

Okay, I’m just about finished.

See, I told you this cactus wouldn’t hurt me. Can’t you see? It loves me.

It does love you Bongo, it’s shaped in a heart just for you. And you did a great job of uncovering so it can show its love:)

Lexie and Mica, I just have to be careful not to get too close when it wants to give me loves.

Oh, that’s so cute Bongo! You spotted the heart!
Question is really, is there a being that doesn’t love you?
    No way! 🙂

Dalton, I think my person’s problem is that she needs a few more lessons in patience.

At the right time tho, sounhds like she could take photo’s of plants for hours as it is we din’t want her to have more patience to take more and more flower pictures, ensuring the light is just right and other rubbish if she did you would never get anywhere on your trails!

Dalton, you’re right about those flower pictures. I thought all the flowers were gone for the year and today she found some that only bloom in the spring – what time of year is this? – and had to take pictures of them. I was about to give those confused flowers what for.

Cupcake, you have to treat those heart cacti with very special care. But maybe with a thick enough layer of frosting on it…

Misaki, it was pretty special to find it. Most of those cacti just want to try pricking me.

I hear those types of cactus are eatable. I’ve never had one, but I’d like to try some day with some Mexican food. Yum!

Jackie, my person had some once at a Mexican restaurant. She says it was pretty good. And we went out and picked some of the fruit this year and she made bread and ice cream from it. I got to taste some and it was really good.

Dalton, what a cute cactus. How can such a spiked plant clearly have a heart? You sure grow ’em special where your at. We’ll it was nice to meet you. I think I might just follow you around and see what other dichotomous things you show in your site.

I usually have to keep a close eye on those cacti so they don’t prick me, so it was nice to find one that loves me. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

What a cool cactus! Ginger says you should water it and perhaps leave it some fertilizer…. hehehehe

    • Bongo

      October 21, 2012 at 4:11 pm

Ginger, I think the fertilizer would be good – but those cacti don’t like too much water.

Misty Shores, I’m pretty good about being careful with cactus – except for the time I found a bone in the middle of a bunch of them. I had to get that bone no matter what. Then my person made me leave it outside.
