Draining Away

31 Jan

Bongo in the puddle looking at the drainage This is serious! Really serious! I don’t even have time to go home and get my Detective Dog hat. I’ve got to solve this mystery and do something about it immediately.

Do you see it? Do you see what’s happening? There’s a stream of water leaving my puddle and if I don’t stop it, that stream is going to take my whole puddle with it. Just when my puddle finally showed up again, it’s going to leave if I don’t do something quickly.

.

.

Bongo in the puddle looking at the water

I bet that stream is caused by the hole those boys made when they dug the dirt out of here. What can I do about it? Most of the dirt is missing now. It washed away when we had all that rain.

Bongo looking at water flowing into puddle

Wait a minute. What’s this? There’s water coming into my puddle. Where did this come from? I’d better check it out.

Bongo walking up the water flow

Look at this! This water is going to fill my puddle up more. If this keeps up I’m going to have a swimming hole here.

What, person? What are you saying?

No way person. We can’t leave yet. I’ve got to wait for my swimming hole to fill up.

Susan, I don’t get to go swimming very often, so it will be cool to have my own swimming hole right on my trails.

Swimming hole! Awesome. SO much more fun than a puddle. Mom tried to make me wash my muddy feet off in a puddle in the parking lot this morning. I jumped over the puddle back and forth about 6 times before she finally took the hint that I would not rinse off the glorious mud and goose poop that I collected. She cleaned my feet with Baby Wipes when we got home.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

Cupcake, the cool thing is that after the swimming hole I still have to go on more trails to get home so I can pick up more mud. Somehow it seems to all come off though when we walk on the street from the trailhead to our house. Too bad. I love to decorate the carpet with muddy prints.

Jaz, I don’t think my person will have a choice. I’ll be jumping in before she can stop me.

Call up some beaver friends to dam the outflow and then you can host a pool party!

Will and Eko, great idea. Let’s see. Where can I find some beavers?

If those boys hadn’t removed the dirt, think how big you puddle could have become! You could have called it “Bongo Lake!”

Kat n Collies, that would be awesome. My own lake! I’ve got to figure that out now. How do I turn my puddle into a lake?

An own swimming hole is wonderful! I think your person will share your enthusiasm after revealing that one does not need a lot of chlorine in the water and one can swim in water under 24 grad of Celsius perfectly! Natural is always the best! And it is also free!

Kolytyi, I’m still waiting for this one to fill up. I love swimming holes, but I don’t get to go swimming very often because we have to drive a long ways to get to a swimming hole.

I thought first of all that you would be building a dam like a beaver does to keep the water in , but now it is coming by itself. BUT…where does it all come from? This needs looking into and you Bongo are the one to look. Get your hat on boyo!

Patreciau, I started to go get my hat, but now the stream of water going into my puddle is starting to dry up. I’m so disappointed.

Oh! Your puddle seems to have a new water supply system! Which means you might never lose your puddle! 🙂

Kevin, that would be so great if my puddle stayed forever.
