Midnight Mischief

02 Apr

Scratchy in the doorwayYesterday I had to put off my mischief story because I had so many other things to say. So today I’m going to tell you about the mischief maker – and this time it wasn’t me.

All last week my person was working on a paper mache empty tomb, and for some reason she wouldn’t let me alone in the room with that tomb. She doesn’t seem to trust me or something. Just because I knocked it on the floor and ate the paper mache stuff off of it. I don’t know what the problem is. My person fixed it.

At night she was shutting the door to her bedroom – with me inside – so I couldn’t go out and eat be near that tomb without her knowing about it.

Scratchy wasn’t very happy about this. He likes to come and go as he pleases and he really dislikes being locked inside the bedroom at night.

So one night Scratchy came to the closed door and started making noise like cats do and clawing on the carpet. My person opened the door and when he got up on the bed she shut the door again.

This made Scratchy mad and he wanted right back out. My person let him out since he was making such a ruckus and then she shut the door.

Scratchy didn’t like that either. He wanted that door open. He kept bugging us until my person opened the door again.

He didn’t want to come in, but he wanted to be able to come in.

Of course, this left me with access to that tomb.

But I didn’t want to eat that thing. It tasted terrible the first time.

Paper mache empty tomb finished

Oh, it would be a shame to eat this as it looks so beautiful the way your person made it!
Of course, she could have added a few treats for you right next to it!!!
    🙂

Marina, I’m going to tell my person you said that. She really needs to put some treats next to it for me. I wouldn’t even consider eating it then.

There is something about doors and cats. I don’t get it but gotta roll with it. How did you and your person get any sleep?

Patricia, we finally were able to go to sleep after my person left the door open – but I sure was tempted to go out and check on that empty tomb.

The tomb looks MUCH better now, than the day you ate it. It doesn’t look very delicious – even to me and I eat ANYTHING! Smart move.

Cupcake, that tomb really wasn’t very good. It has a nice opening though where treats could go inside.

Bongo, your person did a beautiful job. With the flowers and plants, it does look like a tomb in a garden. It looks so nice. She put a lot of time into that, I imagine. BTW–I see Scratchy’s tail, but on my computer, I can’t really make out his head. He looks headless!

Literary Chicks, my person says thanks. Oh, and I think Scratchy was trying to look headless. He wouldn’t pose for the camera and turned his head the other way. I figured it worked good for a midnight picture.

Benny & Lily, I’m thinking there’s a lot of room for treats inside that tomb though.

Bongo, me and my mom were so impressed to look at the two pictures of the tomb….
How beautiful they are! The moment we saw the pictures on todays post, our eyes became watery…..we don’t know how to explain well but those two pictures seem to be full of love….so beautiful….. 🙂

Thanks Little Binky. Scratchy isn’t like you. He just likes to be difficult.

Maybe Scratchy changed his mind and tried to act in your favour???

Kolytyi, I hadn’t thought of that, but maybe Scratchy just wanted the door open so I could get out. I guess maybe I should give Scratchy a little more credit.
