Stranger at the Door

10 May

Bongo waiting at the doorWhen I hear a stranger come into my yard, or knock on my door I bark.

I figure that will keep any strangers who are up to no good away.

Sometimes my person will open the door for a stranger. I stand there right by her side to make sure she’s safe.

After all, that’s my job isn’t it?

Once I decide that the stranger is safe, what I’d really like to do is go out and get them to give me loves. Lots of loves.

But my person is always holding tight to my collar so I can’t go out.

I know she’s probably nervous about having a stranger at the door, but I wish she didn’t get that nervous. She’s got me by her side and once I’ve figured it’s safe to go out and get loves, my person should figure that I know what I’m doing and there’s no danger here.

I know who’s good to get loves from and who isn’t. I wish my person would realize that.

But sometimes a stranger comes knocking at the door that even I wouldn’t open the door for.

A stranger that even I would not want to get loves from – and I like to get loves from almost everyone.

But not this stranger.

Tumbleweed at the door

I think I’ll leave the door closed.

Well, you’re right, Bongo1 This stranger doesn’t look very friendly!
As for the holding of the collar… well, show some leniency, she will become braver sooner or later having you next to her!
    🙂

Marina, I don’t know about my person. She always seems to be holding tightly onto me.

Yep, we think you’re a smart pup for not opening the door to that one! Have a great today Bongo!

Thanks Max. I’d be totally afraid that stranger would want to give me loves.

I’m afraid of that stranger! Get under the bed, B. Let your mom chase it away with the broom!

Cupcake, I think that stranger could be pretty nasty.

Bongo, you’re such a good body guard! I always run away when somebody comes at my door, especially if it looks like that creature who’s at your door right now. Here comes the pawkiss, I’m out of here 🙂

Little Binky, it’s probably a good idea to run away from that creature.

OMD! A tumbleweed at the door…That is so kewl…none of them here but we do get huge chunks of Spanish moss falling on the front stoop Have a great weekend!

Gizmo, I heard there were nasty chiggers in Spanish moss. Tumbleweeds have something like that – little pokey things – but they’re part of the plant.

I do the same thing Bongo but Diane still goes & opens that door almost always! I get confused sometimes though – do you know they have these things called commercials on tv & some of them have doorbells ringing? Boy does that make me nuts! Then I get all crazy because everyone’s yelling that it’s just the tv – huh, why would they ring a doorbell on tv? You can’t answer the tv right. I’d stay away from that stranger at the door though – looks like a trap.

Lola, I’m with you. Why would anybody ring a doorbell on TV. At least TVs don’t have strange creatures knocking on the door – or do they?

It is your job to stick close by person ( and evaluate opportunities for loves)
That bottom picture! So that’s how stranger danger rolls around there?

Karen, that picture represents true stranger danger. Don’t ever get messed up with one of those things.

RC is taking that to heart…but Molly sees a giant rolling sticky thing to chase

Oh my. I don’t think loves from that stranger would be fun at all! You did a good job protecting your person from that one!

Love of a Dog, I think that stranger has kind of a poky personality.

I always bark at when someone comes to the door, too. Usually, that’s just for show, but I’d have wanted to bite that stranger if I saw it on my porch.

Lola, it’s a good thing that stranger didn’t come to your door. It might want to bite you back.

Maybe your person feels safer when she holding onto you.

Patricia, my person keeps trying to tell me she’s keeping me safe, but I know it’s really the opposite.

I think you should send Scratchy to chase that potential intruder away from your doorstep!

Kolytyi, that’s a great idea. Scratchy might get tangled up with it and then it could roll away with Scratchy inside.

Whenever a stranger comes to our house, I bark at him/her even if the stranger is mom’s uncle. Yes, that stranger looks weird and doesn’t seem to be friendly! You should ignore him/her, so he/she might disappear before long!

Kevin, I think that stranger came in with the wind. I hope the next wind takes that stranger along with it.

Of course you are doing your job Bongo, your person is so lucky to have you 🙂 and vise versa!! I don’t blame you for not opening the door for that stranger, they look pretty prickly.

Misty Shores, you never know what might be on the other side of a door. I’m sure not taking any chances.

Dalton, if I let that thing in there would be little ones sprouting up all over the house.
