Yesterday I posted about my hike in West Fork. It was so much fun. There were lots of people and dogs on the trail. And shade. It was nice and cool there.
Today I went back to my own trails.
Empty.
The parking lot was empty.
The trails were empty.
The only ones on my trails were me, my person, and a few birds.
I didn’t even see any lizards.
I think everybody went to West Fork and stayed there.
Maybe I should go back there too.
I miss all the people and dogs. It was cool and shady there. And there was water.
But wait a minute. I just thought of something.
These are my trails, and I’ve finally got them all to myself.
I don’t have to tell any other dogs whose trails these are.
I don’t have to worry about people who might not want to give me loves.
I don’t even have to stand aside while people – and dogs – come walking past me.
I think I’ll put a sign on my trails. “Bongo’s Trails – Go to West Fork.”
I won’t leave that sign up forever though.
Because I want to go back to West Fork again. I’ll take that sign down then.

You’re looking a little toasty in that first picture, Bongo! I bet that you wish there were some nice streams on your trails so you could lay down and cool off…Enjoy having those trails all to yourself for now though! Hopefully you get to make a return trip to West Fork sometime soon with your persons 🙂

Love of a Dog, that first picture was actually taken at the end of my walk and I was definitely toasty. I think I’ll start taking my person for walks later in the day.

Hot, dry, and lonely. That does not sound like fun. It’s like when Mom walks me too early in the morning. No friends. No fun.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, most everybody walks early or late this time of year and I think I’m going to start doing that too.

You’re right Bongo! Having those trails all to yourself is fun!
I’d rethink the sign though. Why not: “Bongo’s trails – Don’t go to West Fork”.
That way you’re having both covered!
🙂

Marina, great idea. I can have all the trails to myself.

Having your own trail is nice sweet Bongo. You can go there when you want peace and quite to explore and go to West Fork when you want to be with other dogs and people. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy, it sounds like the best of both worlds, doesn’t it? Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Bongo don’t forget to say $5.00 admission to the Bongo Trails….I mean it IS your trail 😉

Max, I don’t know what I’d do with money so I charge treats and loves to use my trail.

That sign is a very clever idea Bongo. Sometimes it’s nice to have some alone time in nature, bonding with it and not having to worry about other distractions.

Susan, I would take the sign down if you came, but it is nice having the trails to myself sometimes.

Looks like its a scorcher there, hope you kept cool. I’m sure everyone appreciates you making sure the trails are well looked after

Will and Eko, it’s supposed to get cooler for the next few days – but then we will get the real scorchers of summer. I think my people need to get me a swimming pool so I can keep cool.

Never a shady cloud around when you need one. Nice of the others to defer to you and give you a crowd free trail once in a while.

Karen, it was nice to have the trails to myself, but I think I’m going to start going out later in the day – when the shadows get long.

That almost looks like Ghost town Bongo. I hope everyone will come back soon from West Fork to get on your trail 🙂

Little Binky, I wonder where Ghost Dog was. You’d think he would show up for the Ghost Town.

That’s a brilliant idea! You could have a second sign at west forks which you put up when you want to walk there to tell everyone to go to your trails and not make a mess of them!

I like your trails Bongo! Because there are lots of beautiful and adventurous things on them. Of course West Fork seems to be one of the wonderful places but having your almost private trails must be much more fun! You’re lucky Boy Bongo! 🙂

Thanks Kevin. West Fork was pretty awesome because I got to go swimming. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a swimming hole on my trails.

It’s true that if you put that sign, you don’t have to worry about people who might not want to give you loves. But even I won’t have the chance to meet people who might want to give you loves. You might try this version of your sign: “Bongo’s Trails – People Who Are Not Ready To Give Me Loves and Dogs Who Are Unfriendly To Me Please Go to West Fork.”

Great idea Kolytyi. I’m going to change the words on my sign right now.

Ginger thinks a sign that says “KEEP OUT! THIS MEAN YOU!” works perfectly for you dont have to ever take it down… hehehe

Ginger, I’m working on that sign right now.
