Empty Shell

11 Feb

Bongo checking out a peanut shellWhat’s this?

Somebody left something for me on my front porch?

Oh, I know what it is.

It’s a shell.

An empty shell.

.

.

Bongo's nose and a peanut shell

And I bet I know who left it here too.

That pesky squirrel.

Squirrel on a wire

The one that hangs out around here and gives me a bad time.

The one who stole my Christmas lights.

Squirrel in a tree with a Christmas light in his mouth

I bet that pesky squirrel thinks I’ll forgive him since he left me these peanut shells.

I bet that squirrel thinks he can trick me into being his friend.

But I know better than that.

I know what he’s up to.

He’s using my porch as a place to dump his garbage and trying to make me feel happy that he’s doing it.

But that pesky squirrel can’t fool me.

I know what he’s up to.

Because if that squirrel was sincere – if he was actually trying to make up for stealing my Christmas lights –

He would have left me the peanuts!

So funny. We have squirrels in the yard who actually threw stuff at us from the trees.

Those pesky squirrels are always up to no good. I hope the ones here don’t figure out that throwing trick. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

That’s for sure Lily. They must be good for something or they wouldn’t be here – but I sure haven’t figured out what it is that they’re good for. Up to no good, that’s what it is.

I don’t want you to get thrown in doggy jail Bongo, but have you tried chasing him down and giving him a what for? Maybe he just doesn’t know that you want what was on the inside of that shell? If he laughs at you, then give him a serious what for!

Kimberly, I’m always trying to give that pesky squirrel what for, but he usually stays up high somewhere because he knows I can’t reach him. He’s in real trouble if I ever catch him on the ground.

We just posted about a pesky squirrel too. You are right, if he was really apologizing he would have left the peanut! 😛 http://firebonnet.com/2014/02/08/look-up-look-down-bird-feeders-not/

I wouldn’t trust this squirrel’s gifts, Bongo. Who knows what his intentions are…

Marina, you’re right. That pesky squirrel is probably trying to poison me.

Those squirrels Bongo! Now, I’ll have to show you a Youtube about how sneaky they can be – is this one mellow Berner or what?

I don’t believe it! That dog should have given that pesky squirrel what for for sure. I would have chased that squirrel into a corner.

That squirrel is taunting you. What a teaser. Shells aren’t even delicious. How do I know that? I just know, that’s all….

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, I bet those shells would taste a lot better if they still had the peanuts inside. I wonder what squirrels taste like. I might have to check it out – if he’ll ever come out of the tree.

Those pesky squirrels. They try to bury acorns in the yard – but Molly finds them and clatters them around in her teeth just to teach those little guys a lesson.
Your squirrel should at least include the peanut – so rude!

Molly, I’m sure glad you’re teaching those pesky squirrels a lesson. I wonder where that squirrel buried his peanuts.

You are right! He is just dumping his trash on you. We have one in our yard and the Girls all try to get him. He leaves shells and walnuts everywhere and digs holes in the yard trying to find where he buried nuts. They are just rude……

Marty, it seems like all my friends are having squirrel problems – well except for a friend in Japan. I guess they don’t have squirrels there. Maybe we should ship some of our squirrels to Japan.

How sly he is! Leaving the shell of peanuts for you…not peanuts itself………Bongo, you shouldn’t be cheated by the pesky squirrel…like you said, he is up to something I’m sure……..very dangerous……

Kevin, squirrels are always up to no good. Just wait until I catch that pesky squirrel on the ground.
