For the last couple days I’ve been investigating a strange phenomenon on my trails.
The emergence (I’m not sure what that word means, but it sounds good.) of rock piles everywhere on my trails.
I’m sure that somebody has been turning boys and other living creatures into piles of rocks.
But I haven’t been able to figure out who is doing it.
And it’s really kind of scary, I mean, whoever it is could turn me into a pile of rocks at any time.
And if I don’t know who’s doing it, I might not see them coming.
.
But today I came across another clue.
While I was out investigating…
Wait, wait!
I can’t do any investigations without my Detective Dog hat.
There, that’s better.
Like I said, while I was out investigating I came across another clue.
I still don’t know who the culprit is, but now I know how he disguises himself.
Because I stepped back to see if I could get a different perspective (Wow! This Detective Dog hat really increases my vocabulary.) on things and I saw something I hadn’t seen before.
Do you see it?
That culprit is still hanging about.
Look closer. He’s there.
That culprit is the one disguised as a rainbow.
Don’t ever trust a rainbow again – at least not one that hangs around rock piles.

Patrecia, my person says the rainbow thing is just something the camera did because she had it pointed too close to the sun – but I think she’s wrong.

Fredrieka, I wonder if I could fizzle out that rainbow with a message.

Rainbows! Of course. They are sneaky weasels and liars. They promise a pot of gold. Where?? Where?? I have never found it. Liars!

hhhmm – interesting thought about the rainbow. You see, I’m under the belief that unicorns poop rainbows. Thus, rainbows have special powers. That’s got to be where the rocks are coming from – rainbows. Then again on the other hoof, those formations of rock could be signs of aliens. Don’t get probed my friend – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

Bacon, I’m confused now. Should I be looking for unicorns or aliens. I think in Sedona, where I live, aliens are more likely to show up.

Aliens. I gotta go with aliens. Watch out for probes. XOXO – Bacon

Lily, I’m still trying to figure that out. I can’t seem to get close to that rainbow.

I had a thought Bongo. You know how dry it is? What if the path is actually growing rocks instead of vegetation? And maybe that rainbow is helping them grow… if that’s the case, you don’t need to be so worried. However, I really like how big your vocabulary gets when you put that handsome detective hat on so keep investigating them for sure!

FireBonnet, if the dryness is causing rocks to grow my trail will soon be overrun. I’d better go out and water everything.

Good idea Bongo… although that might be a futile effort in your kind of country. 😉

The rock piles look like witchcraftery to me, Bongo. Maybe they are marking some kind of portal to other dimensions or something. Anyway, they seem freaky…I would keep my distance if I were you.
Bongo
February 23, 2014 at 1:47 pm
Oz, I’d better stay away for sure. Who knows where I could end up if I went through that portal.

That looks like the trails of Sedona. Lots of rock piles. However, I’ve never known anyone to be turned into a pile of rocks.

Yes these are Sedona trails. But the rock piles only started showing up on this particular trail recently. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Now I will certainly keep my distance if I come across a rainbow. I had no idea that a culprit could be so cunning!

Dalton, have you ever found that pot o’ gold at the end of a rainbow? That’s what I thought.

Wow! That rainbow is very short! I liked rainbow because it’s beautiful but I have to be careful not to be close to it because me, too….I might be turned into a pile of rocks!!!! Scary!

Kevin, I figured out that we’re safe around rainbows because they’ll never let us get too close to them. The more we move closer the more they move away. Kind of like what I do to my person when I manage to escape from the house.

Do you think that rainbow’s telling you that the rocks are really piles of gold (they’re just in disguise).

Diane and Lola, I think I’d better investigate that.

Oh, sweet Bongo we would be very leery of what is going on if we ever saw a rainbow that near to the ground. You are wise in not trusting rainbows ever again that is a weird place for one to be. There are so many strange things on your trails lately you may have to wear your detective hat on every trip. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, that’s a good idea. Note to myself: before leaving the house get Detective Dog hat. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.
