Far, far away…
What?
What do you mean, that’s not the way the song goes?
Of course it is.
And I bet if I wait for the people to come back to their car they’ll let me get in and they’ll take me there.
Then I can go swimming.
What do you mean, they wouldn’t want to put up with me in their car for that long?
It can’t be that far away?
It is?
I’d have to go where?
Swamis are all the way in India?
Where’s that? It can’t be that far. We have Indians living all over Arizona.
What do you mean, not the Native American kind of Indians?
There’s other kinds?
I’m totally confused.
What!?
The song I was singing is about the Suwannee River in Florida?
Now, that’s more like it.
Florida can’t be that far away.
It’s in the same country, after all.

Diane and Lola, I’m singing away – but my person is threatening to lock me up. I’m not sure why.

I think a Swami is a fortune teller. Maybe he can tell your future, B. Or at least where the cookies are hidden….
Love and licks,

Ooooohhh!!! I’ve heard it! Oops! I mean my mom said that she learned the song with Japanese lyrics when she was in a school!!! It’s been a long time since she listened to it the last time, she said. She didn’t know that the song was from Florida and where the river is, so what a surprise!
Besides, the song on the video above is so sweet! Thank you very much for posting this song! We’re so touched! 🙂

Glad you enjoyed the song Kevin. My person used to sing this song when she was a kid, but she just found out that the song and the river are in Florida – so we all learned something.

Sweet Bongo we have never seen the river but Mumsy knows that song and remembers it well from her younger days. Maybe you will get to visit Florida some day and take a swim in the river. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I’m saving my extra treats for the trip. I’ll have to eat them all before I go swimming though. Otherwise they might get soggy.
