I pass this stump almost every day when I go walking on my trails, but there’s something different about it today.
This stump has a heart.
It never had a heart before.
Not until today.
I wonder if this stump went to the Land of Oz and got its heart.
You know, like the tin man who wanted a heart.
So he went and talked to the wizard.
That tin man had to do a lot of hard things to find out that he really did have a heart.
I wonder what this stump had to do.
Maybe build a few rock piles – or knock some down.
Or chase away the aliens when they try to invade my trails.
Or it might have stood guard against those nasty javelina when they tried to eat the prickly pear cactus.
Whatever that stump did, it worked.
And I think I’ll hang around it for awhile because…
This stump has heart.

It’s a heart tree, perhaps, the very heart of all the plants around!

Patrecia, I usually don’t have many messages left to leave by the time I go past this stump. My person thinks it’s a beautiful stump too. She’s wanted to take her sketch pad and pencils out and draw it – but lately she’s been taking lots more pictures with her camera and not doing much drawing.

It sounds like a lovely idea but you would have to stay at home as person would have to sit awhile to study and draw

I think the stump needs a heart. All things on your trails should have hearts. Especially the rock piles.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, I’ll have to talk to that stump and see if it has some spare hearts for those rock piles.

Chancy and Mumsy, I guess that stump made sure I saw its heart so I could help share the love. Hugs and nose kisses to you too.

I’m glad to see that stump who finally got a heart which probably what he/she wanted! He/she looks as if he started talking and moving! I’m sure if he/she start moving, the first thing he/she does is giving you big hugs! Happy Easter, Bongo!

Kevin, that would be really strange if that stump started hugging me. But I bet I would be the only dog to be hugged by a stump.

Fredrieka, do you think that heart on the stump on my trails was left by Jesus? That would be so cool.
