There’s something not fair around here.
Totally not fair.
Those cats I live with are always allowed on the furniture.
Anytime and anywhere.
But if I try to get on the furniture – the nice, comfy furniture – I get yelled at and told to get down.
Is that unfair, or what?
***
Sometimes I sneak onto the furniture when my person isn’t looking.
But the problem is that the furniture is so comfy that I don’t always wake up when my person comes near.
It’s really embarrassing when I get kicked off the furniture and the cats get to stay.
I feel like a second class citizen around here.
And we all know that dogs rule over cats.
We all know that, right?
I didn’t hear you.
Well, never mind.
Because I figured out a way to get past the problem.
I found myself an ally.
Person, don’t even try to kick me off.
He said I could.

Fredrieka, if us dogs are supposed to be part of the family then we should have all the family privileges. Our people shed hair too – maybe not as much, but they do.

Bongo you are giving Mom a complex! Everyone here gets on the furniture, leaves hair everywhere, runs all over the house…… sigh…. poor mom with a complex ….keep it up, I might get salmon every night!

Marty, if it means you’ll get salmon every night I’ll keep working on your mom. Then my person will feel like she needs to give me salmon too.

It’s always to good to have friends on your side. Keep him close and tell the littler person to not go anywhere. You need him.

Kimberly, my younger person says he’s leaving again as soon as he gets a job. Maybe I should tell all those job people not to hire him because he already has a job.

At the zoo no dogs on living room coach or big bed but the sneak anyway.

June 19, 2014 at 11:59 am
Dogdaz, I used to sneak onto the big bed every time my person left the house. I don’t know how she knew, but she did. Now she locks me in dog jail whenever she leaves. That means no cat food either.

Oh Dog! No fair. Sofie leaves big chubby dog prints on the wrong side of the big bed but Nine, the mancat, tries to lie in the spot before the humans see it. Lulu’s no no is the living room couch. They can tell by the nose art on the big picture window.

Bongo buddy, lets get a petition going on this because it’s the same in my house! And Diane says it’s because cats don’t listen anyway. So why should we be punished for being so good? I have a little trick though that I can usually get away with…when someone’s sitting on the coach or bed, I kind of drape myself over their body – now technically, that’s not on the furniture right?

June 21, 2014 at 1:22 pm
Lola, that’s a great idea. Of course you’re not on the furniture if you’re on someone’s lap – even if you’re bigger than their lap. And you’re right about those cats. They’re really bad at listening. Maybe we need to be chasing them off the furniture.

Good for you sweet Bongo. I hope you got to enjoy a lot of pats while on the furniture. Maybe you will get to get on the furniture now that your person sees you did so well on there. The cats here get anywhere they want to they don’t obey like I do. I can get on the furniture but I don’t want to be there unless Mumsy is there. Hugs and nose kisses Chancy

Chancy, my younger person let me get on the couch next to him again, but my person was close by and I was afraid she was going to make me get off. So I just got on halfway.
