There you are you pesky squirrel. What are you doing up there? Come down here for a minute. I want to talk to you.
I don’t know how to talk squirrel, but what you’re saying to me doesn’t sound very nice. Come on down. Let’s have a decent conversation. Dog to squirrel. Stop chattering!
No, I’m not going up there. Who’s the boss of this yard anyway? After all, I am bigger than you. Am I hearing what I think I’m hearing? Are you laughing at me?
You get down here right now! I want to chase tell you something. How dare you go hanging around up there like you own the place? This is my yard! Who do you think you are?
Fine. Go hang out above the neighbor’s yard. I didn’t want to talk to you anyway.
Guess I told that squirrel who’s boss.

Fluffy Tufts, I’m not sure why that squirrel even thinks he can come near my yard – but he knows who’s boss now.

Good work, Bongo! Keep those freeloaders away. They like to steal the bird seed and suet we put out, even though there are plenty of walnuts and other treats out there for the squirrels.
Bongo
January 25, 2012 at 5:14 pm
Lindy, those squirrels are up to no good. I’ll chase them away any day.

Great Post Bongo!
Our Hallie used to love to chase squirrels on our walks! She always thought they were unsporting for climbing up trees… LOL After she died we had squirrels on every walk that would follow us and chatter up a storm for six months…. Not sure what it all meant..
Your story is great and way to tell that squirrel. Your post brought back some great memories…
Lots of Hugs!
The Collies and Chuck 🙂

Collies and Chuck, glad I could bring back some good memories. I’m not sure if I should say this, but in this one case maybe us dogs should team up with the cats. When the squirrels climb trees we can send the cats up after them.

LOL, Bongo you rock! I’d love to have you join me for a walk but the Chedster would never go for it!!!!

Geraldine, we can let the Chedster hang out with Scratchy while you and I go for a walk.

Whazza matter squirrel — chicken?
Bongo
January 25, 2012 at 5:19 pm
Sandra, those squirrels really are chicken. They never come down in my yard to play – they just chatter at me from up high.

Squirrels do the same thing in our yard. They never want to come and play with us. We just can’t understand why not.

Who-whoo, squirrels! The German: I’ve learned when one tried to get to the bird feeder. If only my person would open the door a little faster …but she just says the door is suddenly too heavy to move fast….Bongo, can a door change like that? Woof for squirrels!
Bongo
January 25, 2012 at 8:17 pm
German, I think there’s some mathematical equation about those doors that makes them do that. Something maybe Einstein or somebody made up – way too complicated for my head. My person says the same thing happens at our house when we’re about to go out for a walk and another dog happens to be walking by on the street.

Wonderbutt’s person, I think squirrels are only good for chasing. If they won’t come down to be chased what good are they?

January 25, 2012 at 9:43 pm
I can think of one thing that squirrels are good for. They clean the nuts out of the yard so the lawnmower won’t run over them and break windows.
Bongo
January 25, 2012 at 11:28 pm
Literarychicks, those sound like high speed nuts in your yard. I guess I’d let the squirrels eat the nuts – before I chased them away.

Bongo, actually the squirrel looks very cute to me…..Oops!!! Hem hem… No…no…he/she is not polite to invade your yard without your permission!!!! BAD squirrel!!! Scratchy will also be interested in chasing…oops! …TELLING him/her something, too? Are there more of them around your yard?
Bongo
January 26, 2012 at 6:22 pm
Kevin, my person thinks the squirrels are cute too. But they sure are pesky. I usually only see one squirrel at a time. A couple times we’ve seen two together, so I’m not sure how many there are around here. They all look the same to me.
