My person let me get into the car with her today. The little car, not the big one. She usually takes me to the vet in the little car. Maybe I’m going to get more loves and treats.
Hmmm. We don’t usually go this far in the car when we go to the vet’s. I wonder where we’re going.
Finally, we’re stopping. Hey, there’s a little dog here. I recognize this dog. I’ve smelled him on you before person. He’s getting in the car with us too?
Hey, how come Pablo gets to ride in front?
We rode for a little while – with me in the back and Pablo in the front – and then all of us got out of the car. It’s a trail!
I’ll give you a head start Pablo.
Hey Pablo, wait for me!
Hey person, hurry up. What is that thing up there?
It’s a rock? Bell Rock? It looks like a giant UFO.
Really? Some people think a real UFO is going to come out of that rock? I wonder if any aliens look like dogs.
Hey person, the trail goes this way.
What are you looking at?
Hey Pablo, I think our people have been looking at these rocks long enough. Let’s take them back to the car now.
March 7, 2012 at 11:21 am
Wow! What a stunning landscape, Bongo! Where exactly is it?
March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am
Sweet Kitten, this is in Sedona, Arizona – a few miles from my house. Next time you come to see Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon you’ve got to come here too.

Bongo it looks like you had a great adventure. It sure is better than going to the vet. Great photos. We dogs always have to keep our humans on the right path.
Bella and DiDi
March 7, 2012 at 11:35 am
Thanks Bella and DiDi. We had a great time and kept our people going the right way.
March 7, 2012 at 11:33 am

Lucky dog! Great pics, beautiful. 🙂

March 7, 2012 at 2:05 pm
What a beautiful walk!! Those rocks are stunning! What a beautiful part of the country you live in. You are so lucky to walk in such a lovely place! 🙂
the envious collies and chuck 😉
March 7, 2012 at 3:18 pm
Collies and Chuck, you have to come out and visit sometime. I am lucky to have such great trails here.
March 7, 2012 at 3:07 pm
Bongo, that trail was definitely worth the trip! It’s a beauty!
Love and licks,
March 7, 2012 at 3:20 pm
Cupcake, it is a great trail, and my person agrees it is beautiful. Come out and join me sometime.
March 7, 2012 at 3:30 pm
Bongo, you had that entire back seat all to yourself!
I sure do enjoy the walks you and your person take. That scenery is gorgeous and makes me want to hurry up and move back to Arizona. 😉
March 7, 2012 at 3:33 pm
Lindy, I would rather be up front with everyone than have the space. When you get back to Arizona you’ll have to stop on by. My person is going to Indiana for a few days next week.
March 7, 2012 at 3:59 pm
Bongo, you lucky dog! You go on so many adventures.
March 7, 2012 at 6:28 pm
Ewrewd, I guess I am really lucky. I love adventures.
March 7, 2012 at 4:17 pm
Your person must really love you to take you to such a beautiful place! It looks like it was a lot of fun!
March 7, 2012 at 6:28 pm
Viciously Sweet, it was great fun. Of course I have fun any time I get to go on a trail.
Chancy, Mumsy and Crew
March 7, 2012 at 4:17 pm
Sweet Bongo you have such beautiful places to go walk. Look like you were all tangled up and Pablo was getting ahead of you there for awhile. 🙂 Those rocks are so beautiful! Looks like the two of you had a fun adventure. Hugs and nose kisses
March 7, 2012 at 6:30 pm
Chancy and Mumsy, I get so excited when I find a new place with new smells that I sometimes go overboard and tangle myself up. I did have a great time though. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.
March 7, 2012 at 4:54 pm
I can tell by the tangled leash that you had a great time! Now…. ask that UFO if they have any cookies. If they do, I am SO there!
March 7, 2012 at 6:31 pm
Rumpy, I’m with you if that UFO has cookies. I think it’s supposed to be underground though, so we’ll have to dig to find them.
March 7, 2012 at 5:43 pm
WOW Bongo what a great place to walk. You did look a little sad in the back seat of the car – but it was worth it once you got there.
March 7, 2012 at 6:35 pm
Karen, I didn’t like being stuck in the back seat by myself. Before we stopped and got Pablo and his person I snuck in the front seat and my person couldn’t do anything about it because she was driving. But I did have a great time on the new trails.
March 7, 2012 at 7:20 pm
The German: “HA Bongo. I tried to write earlier that you have to run really fast and jump in first calling “short nose – or door closed” – or something like that to claim that front seat….Persons can’t resist that sad face sad face look if you have to sneak up….but then I got distracted by the yellow ball..big woof for it all working out! An outing with friends. Outstanding. Nose bump!”
March 7, 2012 at 7:36 pm
German, I’ll remember those front seat tricks next time. If I get there first and refuse to budge, maybe I can stay there.
For the Love of My Dogs
March 7, 2012 at 6:04 pm
Beautiful photos your person took, Bongo! Looks like you had a good time with Pablo, even if he did get to sit in the front. Scarlett feels your pain 😉
March 7, 2012 at 6:36 pm
Scarlett, do you get stuck in the back seat too? Anyway, I did have a good time on the new trails.
March 7, 2012 at 7:06 pm
Looks like it was a great trip Bongo. Your person sure took some great pictures.
March 7, 2012 at 7:34 pm
Thanks Brown Dawgs. We had a lot of fun.
March 7, 2012 at 10:43 pm
Bongo, such spectacular views! Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your trails. 🙂
March 7, 2012 at 10:45 pm
You’re welcome Monica. I like to share.
March 8, 2012 at 12:00 am
What beautiful scenery! Is that near where you live Bongo? You are very lucky. What a great day out you must have had. Bet you slept well in the car on the way home!
March 8, 2012 at 12:54 am
Charlie, this is very close to where I live. I love having all these great trails so close and my person likes the scenery too. I didn’t sleep in the car, but I slept when I got home.
March 8, 2012 at 1:46 am
It’s not fair, Bongo, you belong in the front seat! But your person brought you and your friend Pablo to an amazing place, that must make everything good. I loved following your trails today, wow 🙂
March 8, 2012 at 11:05 am
Angels Whisper, it was worth having to ride in the back seat to get to go on those fun trails.
March 8, 2012 at 3:51 am
Bongo, you’re so lucky having this spectacular landscape so close to your home! And to go there with a friend …what an experience!
March 8, 2012 at 11:06 am
Marina, it is great having all these trails to walk on.
March 8, 2012 at 4:51 am
What a walk! I really want to visit.
March 8, 2012 at 11:06 am
Bones, come on over.
March 8, 2012 at 6:33 am
Oh My Dog!!!! The landscape is breathtaking!!!! The scenary looks as if we were in a Hollywood film!!! PAWSOME!!! Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pics, Bongo!!!! 🙂
P.S. Pablo is so cute! He looks like black shiba-inu!
March 8, 2012 at 11:12 am
Kevin, we do have some pretty awesome scenery around here – and it has been in a lot of Hollywood films. They made a lot of old western films here and still make movies here sometimes. I’ll tell Pablo you said he is cute. His people don’t know what kind of dog he is. He came from Mexico. His people got him when they were living there.
March 9, 2012 at 6:22 am
Wow, a lot of Hollywood films!!!! It’s amazing that those nature is real! Stunning!!! 🙂
March 9, 2012 at 10:54 am
Kevin, my person says Elvis Presley even made a film here once (whoever he is) and she got to see part of the filming of the movie Midnight Run.
March 8, 2012 at 8:04 am
Pablo in the front seat? What’s up with that! LOL! Bongo your trails have got have some of the best scenery in the world! What great pictures, I love the one of Bell Rock!
March 8, 2012 at 11:14 am
Bassetmomma, I’m not sure how Pablo rated the front seat – after all it was my person’s car. We do have some pretty great scenery here. Thanks.
March 8, 2012 at 9:57 am
Hey Bongo, Jet here. Dude, you got to hike with a pal, lucky you! The scenery is amazing for a tropical K9 like me… please thank human for sharing pics…
Back seat is the best… with the windows open!
March 8, 2012 at 11:15 am
Jet, I’ll have to remind my person to open the windows next time. She says she’s glad you enjoyed the pictures.
March 8, 2012 at 4:28 pm
Bongo, see… now you will have even more fun… and we will get to see even more awesome pics!
March 8, 2012 at 6:15 pm
Jet, I really do have to get my people to take me to new places more often.
March 9, 2012 at 4:02 am
I agree, I love having new adventures. Ask politely… according to Scooby Doo Academy, you will have a better response!
March 9, 2012 at 11:03 am
Do you think jumping up and down will work? That’s how I usually ask for things.
March 9, 2012 at 9:09 pm
JJ has a similar strategy… best to ask one of my pawfessors!
Fenris' new life
March 8, 2012 at 10:28 pm
Really nice pictures, Bongo. And those trails look fun! My mom says we have some trails about a mile from our house here, but since we just got here we haven’t had time to try them yet. But I’m sure they’re not as lovely as yours. Maybe one day I’ll get to see those red rocks too! 🙂
March 8, 2012 at 11:17 pm
Fenris, I keep inviting my dog blogging buddies to join me on my trails, but they all live too far away. You live close enough that maybe you could actually join me sometime. That would be so much fun.
Fenris' new life
March 9, 2012 at 12:51 pm
Thank you! Yes, that would be lots of fun. I love discovering new things. Sometimes my mom calls me Curious George. Did you say the fall had the best hiking weather? I will bug my mom and dad to take me there then 🙂 And you know you are always welcome to swim in my pool if you make it down south 🙂
March 9, 2012 at 1:43 pm
Fenris, fall is best here. October is usually the best month. Spring has good temperatures but we usually get a lot of wind. I may have to bug my people to bring me down to swim in your pool. That would be fun.
March 9, 2012 at 1:04 am
Bongo thank you for taking us on such a beautiful walk. Your Mom took some spectacular pictures and I know I haven’t seem all those spots. All those new smells had to be a lot of fun for you. Now I know I’m jealous 😦 hope it was a terrific day 🙂
March 9, 2012 at 10:41 am
Tylers, glad you enjoyed the pictures. I do have some great trails, but I love seeing yours too.
March 9, 2012 at 5:31 am
“What are you looking at?” Paaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa! I love it. 🙂
March 9, 2012 at 10:47 am
Flo, my person seems to see something in those rocks that I don’t get. And she doesn’t seem to enjoy all the great smells. People. Go figure.
July 30, 2012 at 1:56 pm
The photos are gorgeous!
July 30, 2012 at 2:19 pm
Thanks Sandra. That was a fun day.
