Today my person and I got in the car and we started driving the way we go to the vet. I like the vet because they give me lots of loves and treats so I was excited.
But then my person did something strange.
Hey, person. You took a wrong turn. The vet’s that way.
What? We’re not going to the vet?
I was really bummed until we got out of the car. There were lots of dog smells there.
Come on person, let’s go. Where are we anyway?
This is a dog park? They have parks for dogs? You never told me that before.
What? I’m finally starting to be nice to all the other dogs on my trails so you thought you’d let me come? What do you mean finally starting to? I’m always nice.
I couldn’t believe it when my person took off my leash. I found so many places to check messages and leave my own that I ran out of message juice – and without my leash my person couldn’t even drag me away.
Then I met Baxter. That little pup followed me around but I think he just wanted my Frisbee.
Baxter really had his eye on my Frisbee.
There’s no doubt about Baxter’s motives now.
Now Baxter, if you just remember who that Frisbee belongs to we’ll get along fine.
Hey person, I had great fun at the Dog Park chasing Frisbees and balls. Can we go back tomorrow?
What? What do you mean I got too much exercise and you didn’t get enough?

What a grand time you had..I am so pleased that you had fun and found another friend. maybe Baxter was waiting for you to throw the frisbee so that he could run and catch it. Fancy running out of message juice..I suppose it was what you call ” A dry run” xxxxxxx

Patreciau, Baxter just wanted what everybody else had. I bet if I threw that Frisbee for him he wouldn’t be interested.

What a great park your person took you to – checking out all those new and different messages must have tired you out, although you could still manage to play with your frisbee and your new friend Baxter – he looks like he might become a really good friend of yours.
Love the pix of you checking your messages!

Barb, I slept really good after I got home. I think next time I go I might have to bring Baxter a Frisbee of his own though.

It looks like you had a great time at the dog park, Bongo! Wonderbutt and Mrs. P.I.B. love going to our dog parks. But, you are right that the humans don’t get nearly as much exercise!

Wonderbutt’s person, my person says she gets lots more exercise on my trails. I hope she takes me back to the dog park though. There were lots of people to throw me balls and Frisbees and lots of dogs to play with.

Love this post…you had me at “message juice”!! 🙂 So glad you met a new friend! By the way, do you like meeting all kinds of fellow doggies, or are there certain ones that you are not super-excited about?

Jessica, I like the dogs who will play with me the most. Some dogs just want to sniff and they’re okay, but is sure is fun when they’ll play.

Flo, my person said I was so good at the dog park that she’ll take me back again – but she wants to get a few days of exercise on my trails first. I guess I’ve got to take her for some walks.

Bongo that is so neat that you have a dog park where you can run and play off leash. We have one close that we enjoy, but really we enjoy our woods walks more. Mom enjoys the walks too she gets exercise and loves the woods. Hope you get to go again soon 🙂

Lexie and Mica, I like my trails but my person won’t let me off leash. She says I’ll run off and besides there’s a leash law, although a lot of dogs don’t follow it. It’s great to have a place I can run off leash and play with other dogs. It’s a lot bigger than my yard and besides, there’s no other dogs to play with in my yard.

Bongo, what a great place to be. I’ve never seen this before, it looks like a childrens’ playground, playing with dogs…amazing. I think I enjoyed the pics of you as much as you’re enjoying to play over there and without a leash, that’s cool 🙂

Angels Whisper, the dog park is kind of like a children’s playground for dogs. It would be cool if there were some children to play with too. I loved being able to run around without being connected to my person. She stayed close though so I could keep an eye on her.

Glad you enjoyed the dog park, Bongo. Was that your first time?
We took a friend’s Siberian husky (his name’s Bubba) to a dog park once. It’s loads of fun even for people.
Happy weekend,

Nel, it was my first time at the dog park. My person says since we have the trails so close by it’s easier to go there than to get in the car to go someplace. It sure was fun though and my person had fun too.

We have several great dog parks and beaches in San Diego and I love them. When I was a puppy, I used to go every day, but now I don’t have so much energy and we go every few weeks. It’s the most fun! I’m glad you got to try it out.

Hey Bongo, Jet here.
Dude, guess what? I can’t believe you went to THAT park… one of my best buddies’ moved to your area last fall. We’re quite sad, but, happy for him. If you happen to bump into an apricot colored Goldendoodle named Sampson (Sam, Sammie) with a person called Miss Denise, that’s him! Miss Denise is the human who named me Jetty as my first nickname. Sam previously lived in the Tropics (Miami) in case he talks about home.

Hey Jet, I’ll keep an eye out for Sampson. That would be so cool to meet one of your friends. My person hasn’t taken me back to the dog park yet because we mostly go on my trails, but I’ll keep after her.
