This is Scratchy here. While Bongo is in the hallway trying to hide from all the thunder we’re having today I thought I’d sneak onto the computer and steal his blog. Actually our person said I could. She even told me to.
That’s because I have some news. Awhile back Bongo’s friends Geraldine and Mr. Cheddar had a contest at their blog My Real Life Reviews. Bongo wanted to enter it but the contest was only for cats and their people, so Bongo entered me. And guess what. I won!
I got three different prizes and the last one just showed up so I thought I’d share them with you – well, at least the pictures of them.
The first one was a bag with cats all over it. My person said she had a use for it so I thought I’d be generous and give it to her. Actually, I couldn’t figure out what I was going to do with that bag anyway.
Then a package came with a book in it. The book is called Crafting with Cat Hair. I was afraid Bongo would to steal all my hair and try to do something with it so I guarded that package carefully.
But the best package just showed up. It’s full of cat treats and a little catnip. It even came with a letter from Mr. Cheddar and now he’s my friend too.
My person put the treats back in the box, but even the box is good.
What, person? I didn’t understand you. I’m in this treat euphoria here.
What!? What do you mean I have to get Bongo something? Just because he entered me in the contest and I won?
Okay, fine. Here you go Bongo. I think some deer lost his antler so you can have it.

Congratulations Scratchy – those are really nice winnings! That was kind of you to give Bongo the antler for entering you in the contest. “Crafting with Cat Hair” – well, you certainly have a beautiful coat, so I imagine whatever gets crafted from your fur will be quite elegant and soft!

Thanks Lindy. I’m not sure I can get my person to do anything with my hair, but she has a friend who works with fibers and recently did something with another friend’s cat’s hair. Maybe she’ll do something with mine. -Scratchy

Does Crafting With Cat Hair involve spinning the hair into yarn and then knitting with it? I hear people do that with dog and cat hair.

Jen, my person has a friend that has spun cat hair and knitted it into the end of a scarf, but this book makes felt out of the cat hair and turns it into cat designs on things and cat hair finger puppets.

Thanks Kevin. This is the first time I’ve ever won anything, and I don’t think Bongo ever has. I guess that’s why I had to give him something. Hey Scratchy, Moe here… congratulations on being a winner! I’d be very careful about cat hair crafts, especially if Super Glue is involved! You should give that bag another look-see though. We have all kinds of bags in this house & I’ve tried them all. They’re great for sleeping & hiding – sometimes Lola doesn’t even know I’m in one until I ‘surprise’ her….good friend Scratchy for remembering Bongo – family’s family.

Hi Moe, I don’t think there’s any Super Glue in those cat hair crafts, but I’m still worried that Bongo might want to take all my hair. I think I might have to hide that book. I like that you surprise Lola by being in a bag. I might have to try that with Bongo. I bet he’d jump.

Thanks YouKai. That might be a good idea – putting the book in the bag my person has. She won’t want Bongo to get into her bag so he won’t be tempted to take all my fur. I haven’t figured out why Bongo gets so upset at the thunder. It doesn’t bother me at all. -Scratchy

Hey Jet, I think we live in two of the worst places for thunder. If it wasn’t for my trails I think I’d tell me person to move and take me with her. I don’t think Scratchy knew he was getting me such a great thing when he got me that antler. I love chewing on it.
