Things have been flying around doing strange things on my trails today. If you look really hard and long at this picture you will see a little white dot around the middle of it. It’s a helicopter, and it hung out in that same spot for a long time.
And then it flew away.
.
.
.
And after the helicopter left we spotted a couple hawks talking back and forth to each other.
And one of them flew away.
And the hummingbirds were flying every which way. Two of them buzzed my person. Right next to her face. And then they flew away.
I wish I had my own camera so I could have taken a picture of that. Note to self: convince person to get me a camera.
And then the most amazing thing happened. That helicopter that had flown away flew back.
I hope someone tells that helicopter that this story is about flying away – not flying back.

Note to Bongo’s person: what an amazing character this dog has! He certainly deserves his own camera too!
Note to you Bongo: silly helicopter, dosn’t get it, does it?!!!!
[glad to see it didn’t rain after all…]

Marina, I don’t know what that helicopter was thinking – oh, and my person says I can have a camera when she finds one that dog paws can operate.

I can’t believe the humming birds actually buzzed around your Mom. That must have been a brilliant experience!

Susan, we’ve had so many hummingbirds on my trails this year. They didn’t stick around my person – it was more of a flyby – but it was pretty cool.

Wonder what the commotion was all about? Maybe the owner of that golf cart is lost…and you can lay claim to the golf cart!!!
Bongo
August 15, 2012 at 6:38 pm
Kat n Collies, maybe the owner of that golf cart climbed all the way up that rock. My person heard that the helicopter was rescuing someone off of it.

I’ll get you a doggie cam from National Geographic, oh shoot I’m broke, maybe your person can afford one… 😀

\maybe all those birds were tired of flying and wanted a lift in the helicopter or maybe it was a spy-person spying out your trail…ooooo you must take care in case you fly too

Patreciau, I just hope that helicopter doesn’t decide to fly away with me in it.

What the heck is that helicopter doing flying back in a flying away story? Some things just don’t get it, do they?! 🙂
Bongo
August 15, 2012 at 6:40 pm
Bassetmomma, I think that helicopter was totally confused.

Cupcake, that’s really disappointing. I might have to invent a special dog camera. When I do I’ll give you the second one. I get the first.

Misty Shores, I’m not sure what that helicopter was thinking.

Bongo, you are so observant. You definitely need your own camera. I think your person should consider getting you one of those doggie cams, like jazfagan mentioned above! 😉 Do you think that helicopter was looking for a lost/injured hiker?
Bongo
August 15, 2012 at 6:43 pm
Lindy, my person heard that the helicopter was rescuing someone off that big rock. Sometimes hikers go up there and then can’t figure out how to get back down.

Sweet Bongo we think you having a camera is a fantastic idea. We know you could get some terrific shots. We would have loved seeing the hawks and hummingbirds. Maybe the person flying that helicopter sensed what a sweetie you are and just couldn’t leave. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I’m not sure what that helicopter was thinking, but we’ve sure had a lot of hummingbirds around here this summer, and the hawks have been hanging around for the last few days. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Sometimes the flying-back is a part we need to live. Right now I am on a period like “letting fly away” something I love so so much. But, I hope, I want to believe, it will come back and tell anybody that there is something in that “away” and that it is not yet for him.
Anyway, I am glad you enjoy your everyday this way 🙂

YouKai, I guess that helicopter needed to fly back. My person says it was rescuing somebody off the mountain.

I’d love to see the photos from the Bongo-cam. Maybe you should have one fitted to your collar??
Bongo
August 16, 2012 at 5:47 pm
Misaki, my person says if I had a Bongo cam all anyone would see was whatever I was sniffing. I think I’ll have to get one that records smells. That would be awesome. I could re-experience all the smells while I was at home.

What could be going on to attract so many things to fly through your trails. What are they all looking for helicopter, hawks and hummingbirds? Really strange!!

Lexie and Mica, the helicopter was looking to rescue someone off that big rock. The hawks have been hanging around for a few days, and we’ve had lots of hummingbirds around this summer. Pretty amazing to see them all flying around at the same time though.

Ginger, if you can get the old guy to climb that mountain the helicopter will come rescue him, when he can’t get back down.
