Who Came Out

03 Sep

Sugarloaf in the sunAbout a year ago I did a post celebrating September 1st. That’s when thunder season is supposed to end – or so I thought. In reality we had bunches of thunderstorms during the month of September. I was not very happy.

So this September 1st I decided I’d better not celebrate. And it’s a good thing too because we had a big thunderstorm and bunches of rain. But the storm finally ended and my person said it was safe to go out.

I’m thinking my person announced that on a loudspeaker because I wasn’t the only one who came out.

The sun came out, but I didn’t really notice. There were too many interesting things on the trail.

Bongo missing the view of Sugarloaf

Some mushrooms came out.

Round Mushroom

Funny shaped mushroom

Then a rainbow came out, but it seemed to be rainbowerly challenged. It wasn’t all there.

Rainbow over Sugarloaf

But the best thing of all was when I discovered that my puddle came out.

Bongo in a large mud puddle

What do you mean, I can’t drink the water?

I’m not drinking it. I’m just giving my puddle a kiss.

    Yay, your puddle!

I wondered where Elka’s puddle had gotten to. I hope you enjoy it 😉

Jen, it’s so exciting having my puddle back. I still haven’t figured out where it goes though. It keeps disappearing.

Your lucky to live in an area that after all the rain you have NEW things start growing and its always a pleasent surprise to see all the new plants growing…:-)

Alex and Penny, I think it’s great too to see all the new things growing, but then my person makes me stay in the house while she hangs out in the yard pulling weeds. I don’t like having to stay in the house when my person is outside.

        Sorry Bongo..:-(
Usually Penny will join me outside while I do a little Garden / Yard work. She likes to watch and hangout in the sun. Sometimes we call her our sunshine girl…She loves the sunshine.

My person used to let me hang out with her while she pulled weeds – at least when she did it in the backyard, but then a couple times I got bored and jumped the fence. For some reason she thinks I’m going to do that every time now so she makes me stay in the house.

Your puddle is huge! I’d love to wade in that to cool off. It’s so hot today that I don’t really want to go outside and I’m taking my naps on the cool floor by the air conditioning vent.

Lola, my puddle is a lot of fun, but it keeps disappearing on me and I haven’t figured out where it goes. It’s pretty hot here today too. My person says she won’t take me out for a walk until later when it cools down.

If your puddle only comes out when it rains it must have something to do with the rain. So maybe storms feel bad about their loud noise and want to leave you something to make you feel better.

Patricia, do you think my puddle likes the storms so it comes out to see them? Strange puddle.

Kevin, I hope my puddle sticks around too, but it has this habit of disappearing and I haven’t figured out where it goes. At least it always comes back eventually.

Welcome your puddle, embrace your puddle, Bongo – take a bath in it – but beware when your person gets really angry with you for getting dirty instead of clean! Puddles that size are meant for splashing around in …..

Susan, it is a fun puddle. I hope it sticks around for awhile.
