Today my person grabbed some plastic bags as we headed out to my trails. Not those skimpy little doggie bags. These were grocery bags.
I wasn’t sure what she was thinking, and since she had her hands full I made sure I got tangled in my leash a lot.
It wasn’t until we got nearly to the end of our walk that I realized what she was doing with those bags. And it was time for me to get to work. I hope she brought my Detective Dog hat along – because somebody has been hanging out in my wash and leaving their litter behind.
Time for me to start investigating.
I even found trash way in the bushes.
I bet this bush will talk.
While I was busy investigating my person picked the trash up. I was ready to head home to sort out the clues.
What do you mean, I’m supposed to carry this?
But I’m Detective Dog. I’ve got clues to sort out. There must be someone else.

Thanks Will and Eko. Usually people are pretty good about not leaving litter on my trails – but every once in awhile I find some trail trash.

Errrrggh, trash bums still? Guess they’ll never stop but it’s great that you & your person take the time to pick it up. Do you get to go to the dump (okay we call it the dump although I guess it’s technically the ‘transfer station’). I love the dump because my buddy Pete gives me a huge cookie every Saturday…Lola (and tomorrow’s dump day!)

October 14, 2012 at 9:10 pm
Lola, I wish I could go to a dump like that. The big truck comes to our house once a week and takes our trash away. My person threw most of the trash in the garbage can at the trail head though. She kept the cans out and put those in our recycling bin. I wonder if the person in our garbage truck has cookies. I’ll have to go out and check next time he comes.

FedEx comes to our house & he brings me a cookie every time. I love Mr. FexEx…Mr. UPS, not so much, he grumpy & refuses to leave packages if I’m outside. I’ll bet if you sit by the cans & give them “the eyes” you could convince that that it’s a good idea to keep cookies in the truck – try it Bongo…Lola

Lola, Mr. Fed Ex and Mr. UPS just ring the doorbell and run at my house. Maybe that’s because I bark when I hear them coming. Maybe I should hold my barking, but I’ve got to do my job protecting my house and people from strangers. The Postal lady gives me loves when she comes to the door because she and my person know each other. She doesn’t come to the door very often though.

I think it is wonderful that you and your person are helping to keep your trails clear of rubbish…it is very naughty people who dump things where they should not be put…
If you ever find out who it was Bongo , you have my full support to bite them! (not too hard)

You are a team remember?! You investigate, your person picks up [cleaning is the dirty job!] and well, you carry …to the nearest trash can [hopefully not too far!]
I have heard that kings are not supposed to do that, but it’s better to go undercover [less responsibilities!]! 🙂

Marina, I like that part about my person doing the dirty job. At least there was a trash can at the trail head and it wasn’t very far away.

How yucky that peoples are leaving their trash along your route. 😦 I hope it doesn’t end up like my route – my peoples would need an entire dumpster to clean it up. It’s REALLY bad. Why I peoples so messy?
Bongo
October 14, 2012 at 9:43 pm
Toby, most people on my trails are very good and there is hardly ever any trash on them. But the people who left the trash weren’t there to hike or walk their dogs – they were hanging out. I hope I find them hanging out again so I can give them what for.

How nice of your Mom to bring a bag and pick up the trash on the trails. The people walking on your trails should pick up their own trash. But I’m not sure you should have to carry it back Bongo!!

Angels Whisper, actually I was chewing on a piece of weed and my person clicked at just the right time. She thought it was a good picture to put in there because it looked like I was growling. But I didn’t want to carry that bag.
