Today I found more of those people on my trails with the long things and the square things. You know, those paint brush things and canvases. My person says the people are artists with the Sedona Plein Air Festival and they’re in town all week.
Well this morning my person left me home and went to see all the artists painting at the Sedona Heritage Museum. She said it was a show for people, not dogs. I think she’s wrong and she should have taken me.
But three of those artists are pretty special because they came to my trails to do a show just for us dogs. They let my person hang around and watch, but I don’t think she would have been allowed if it wasn’t for me being there too.
I made two new dog friends and we got our own special show.
.
I’m not sure though if my new friends got tired, or they liked the lady artists better, or they just found the smells on the ground to be better than the art show.
I’m going for the smells. Maybe those artists could throw a little jackrabbit scent into their paintings.

Misaki, I thought it was pretty cool too. My person got some of the artist’s email addresses so she could send them a link to the post and they can see how famous they’ve become by being on my blog.

Bongo, somehow I think you got the best deal…you didn’t have to dress up or be quiet…and probably saw the biggest art show – like that one in the last picture. How pretty the scene

I hope those artists captured your beauty along with the beauty of your trails. You could be famous.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, I guess I lost out on being famous this time. Those artists were only painting rocks – not dogs. Maybe I can put in a reservation to get painted for next time I see them.

Wow Bongo how fun! I think your person should get you some paper and paints and allow you to do your own painting. You may have to use you paws though as I don’t think you will be able to hold one of those long things in your paws. But I am sure you have some hair on your paws that will act like a paint brush! I would love to see your take on the area!

Nancy, I’ve been trying to get my person to let me paint for a long time. Maybe now that she’s seen those other artists paint she’ll give me a shot at it.

Bongo, you’ve peaked my curiosity – now I need to find out exactly what plein art painting is all about; and you know? I think I’d put dogs in it :). What a wonderful personal show you had.

Roberta, plein air painting is painting outside. You have to paint pretty fast because the light changes – or go back to the same spot at the same time of day. I think dogs should be in it too but my person says we don’t sit still long enough. I could sit still – if I had a pile of treats in front of me.

…and I ask you, what good are those rocks without the presence of your face?!
Oh, well, it was nice of them to put up a show specially for you guys.

Marina, those artists must have known I would show up and that’s why they decided to paint on my trails.

Thanks Kevin. It is pretty peaceful and relaxing on my trails – especially this time of year because October is when we have the best weather. I wish you could come and enjoy my trails with me.

Thanks Angels Whisper. My person says it was a lucky shot as she was clicking fast to catch the dogs before they moved, but she thought it turned out really well.

Zen and Genki, I guess when you live in an artsy fartsy town everybody gets that way.
