Something is really strange out on my trails today. I can’t quite put my paws on it – but something is different. I think I’ll stay close to my person. Things just don’t feel quite right.

I think I’ve got it. The sky isn’t the same. It’s been blue for a long time now. I’d almost forgotten it could ever be any other color. But it isn’t blue today. Look how gray it is.
My person says all this gray is coming from a storm called Brutus that’s on its way.
Brutus! What kind of a name is that for a storm?
The Weather Channel named it that?
I’ve heard of thunderstorms, and snowstorms, and rainstorms, and hailstorms. I’ve even heard of windstorms. But Brutus storms? This could be really dangerous. Is Brutus going to be falling out of the sky? What would that be like? Or maybe there will be lots of Brutuses falling.
Hey person, I can barely see those hills. I think Brutus is on its way. We’d better get out of here.
Oh, no! It’s covering up Thunder Mountain now. We’re surrounded!
Wait a minute. I think I’m getting wet. These little Brutuses that are hitting me seem a lot like rain. Do you think the Weather Channel knew what they were talking about when they named this storm Brutus?

Oh, Bongo! I hope it is not as “Brutus” as the name suggests! Get thee under shelter and in your vest asap! 🙂
Stay safe!

Marina, no thunder so far – we don’t get much this time of year – but I don’t really like the sound when the rain starts coming down hard. It’s been stopping and starting. At least at the moment it’s stopped. Kind of windy out there though.

Brutus sounds scary. You’d better get home and have a snooze on you favourite place. Love Nellie and Jasper.

Nellie and Jasper, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m hanging out in the hallway – it’s the furthest away place from the wind and the rain. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Brutal Brutus – sounds too heavy to fall without notice. Take cover!

Karen, I’m hiding in my hallway – although I’m worried my person might try to drag me out in it. And I can’t refuse a walk – well, as long as it’s not thundering anyway.

Oh my word – not more named storms! You keep safe there Bongo and definitely get out of the rain.

Susan, I think those weather guys don’t have anything better to do than make up names. So far this storm’s not too bad here – kind of windy and rain off and on. My person says this storm is bringing snow in colder places. Snow? I want snow.

The rain won’t hurt you, B. I just hope there’s no thunder….

Cupcake, I keep thinking there’s going to be thunder – but so far there’s just some wind and rain off and on. My person even made me go for a walk just now. At least we saw a bunny that was out braving the storm. I couldn’t catch it though.

I think naming snowstorms is silly, especially naming one Brutus. Et tu, Bong!

Dogdaz, I guess the life of a weatherman must not be very exciting. They have to think of something to do.

Patreciau, my person took me out in it again yesterday – but we made it between rainstorms and it was just a bit windy.

Bongo, a lot of dogs in Holland are named Brutus. Maybe dogs will falling out of the sky. Keep safe 🙂

Angels Whisper, I’d better be careful. I wouldn’t want any dogs falling on me. And I sure hope those dogs don’t get hurt when the fall.

Hey Bongo, Jet here.
Dude, stay safe… strange, they used to only name Hurricanes…

Hi Y’all!
I think they’ve taken this storm naming too far! Too much! When a real storm comes, how will we recognize it? and will we know it in time?
Y’all come by now,

H Hawk, maybe the weather people think they will get more viewers on the Weather Channel if they have a name to go with the storm. We rarely get bad storms where I live so the naming does seem kind of silly.

I got wet on my walk yesterday, too. I don’t really mind, but I guess my person got cold because we cut it short and came home. Now she tells me it’s snowing in our mountains. Brutus or not, I’d love to go play in it!
Bongo
November 10, 2012 at 12:03 pm
Lola, I’m with you. I love playing in snow. I don’t know if our mountains got any, but it didn’t get all that cold here – just wet and windy. The blue sky is out again today.

Brutus? Interesting… here dad just calls them another #$%$@%@ storm… he has such a way with word… sort of like a Brutus…
In fun,
The Collies and Ginger who wants to create a brutus in our house just to see dad react…

November 10, 2012 at 12:12 pm
Ginger, it won’t take much to create a Brutus like we got. We just got some rain and wind and it didn’t even get very cold. But I guess some other places got a lot of snow from it – so have at it.

Silly of the Weather Channel to start naming winter storms. Hopefully it won’t catch on and insurance companies start including them in their ‘higher-deductible’ claims….

Sage, do you think the Weather Channel and the insurance companies are conspiring together? Yikes!

Hey Bongo, if Brutus gets too scary move to an empty bathtub then close the shower curtain! (Just don’t turn on the tap!!!)

Loy, that might be a good idea – but I could turn on the tap. I love water. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Emily, I hadn’t either. I guess the Weather Channel just started naming winter storms. I guess other areas got snow from this one but where we are most of our storms are pretty mild. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Kevin, I did get a little wet from Brutus because the rain started before we expected it and caught us. I don’t mind we though as long as I’m not too cold. But Brutus left and the sun has returned – except I don’t think its heater is working today. Brrr

Thanks Brook. I’m glad you enjoy my blog. Brutus already passed through. We just got some rain and wind here. Nothing serious. I guess Brutus dropped some snow on other areas as it passed through.
