Around the Block

24 Nov

Bongo on the RoadToday was such a beautiful day and it felt really good to be outside. I took my person on our usual walk on my trails and then we headed back home.

But when we got back home I wasn’t ready to go in. I hadn’t seen any dogs on my trails, and only a few people. And two of the people were on mountain bikes. It’s kind of hard to get loves from a person on a bike.

So when it came time to turn back into our driveway I balked. I wanted more walk. And actually, I was kind of hoping to find Toby outside. Toby is my new dog neighbor and I haven’t even got to meet him yet. My person got to meet him, but noooo – she couldn’t let me out to meet him.

So I took my person around the block. We don’t usually walk around the block. My trails are nicer, but it’s kind of nice to do something different for a change. And I was hoping to meet some of my dog neighbors that don’t go on my trails.

There was nobody on the street at all. No people. No dogs. Not even a cat.

So when we got back to our driveway I balked again.

But my person wouldn’t go for it.

And she’s bigger than me.

Come on person, Toby’s going to be out here any minute now.

                                          ***

Sorry Toby. As soon as someone leaves the door open I’ll come by.

Everybody must be still sleeping off their turkey today, B. What a bummer. Seeing dog friends is so much fun. Better luck tomorrow.

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, I guess I’ll have to take my person around the block again. Later. Right now I’m basking in the sunny spot.

    Hi Bongo,
I love your blog. When I am out walking my dogs I love to meet other dogs just as much as they too and I have to chat to their owners too.

Hi Mary, I’m glad you enjoy my blog. It’s always fun meeting other people and dogs when I’m out. The best is when I find a dog who will play with me or a person who gives me loves.

Oh, that’s sad, Bongo… did you at least get some more turkey after the walk?
Here are some loves & kisses from me: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 😉
    I hope you’re better now!
    🙂

Marina, thanks for the loves and kisses – even if I don’t get them from you in person. And I did get a little more turkey – but now I ate it all.

Isn’t that the way it always is…when you want somebody to hang out with you can’t find ’em. Yet if you were in a hurry, they’d be all over the place! Maybe tomorrow, Bongo.

Loy, I’ll be looking for more people and dogs soon – but right now I’m enjoying my sunny spot in the back room.

Marcela, I guess I didn’t get enough because I was wide awake. I’d better go back for more. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Hi Bongo, it’s Molly. It was quiet on our walk very early this morning, too. But there was a new German shepherd walking, too. I tugged my way over although my person kept saying slow down slow down. And I showed my new dog social manners by quickly going down on my tummy and letting the other dog come up and sniff. This one is my size and we are the same age – we happily circled and sniffed. Then I forgot and invited her to bounce. And she wanted to – but they had to go.
I’m glad you have a new friend, too…bet Toby can run fast.

Molly, I love it when dogs will bounce with me. It doesn’t seem to happen very often. Maybe Toby will when I finally get to meet him. My person says I have to wait until we’re both outside at the same time.

Everyone is busy sleeping off their turkey and pumpkin pie! Or they are still out shopping… I’m sure someone will be around to visit you soon!

Emily, my person stayed in and did her shopping. I like it when she does that because when she gets on the computer I start bugging her to go outside. I did see more people – and dogs – this afternoon on my walk.

Benny & Lily, we’ve been having some great days for walks. And on my last walk I even got little girl loves.

I think that you should leave a message for Toby at his gate..you could say’ welcome’ and ‘see you soon’ then he would know that he has a friend. What colour is he, what type of dog..you must ask your person this so that you can tell me

Patreciau, Toby is a black and brown Australian Shepherd. If I ever get to meet him I’ll make sure my person takes a picture of him so I can post it on my blog. Toby doesn’t have a gate to leave a message on, and I already posted about the dangers of leaving messages on cactus, so I’ll have to wait until we’re both outside.

Oh…poor Bongo…I’m very sorry that you couldn’t get any chance to meet Toby….I understand how you feel because I very often do almost the same thing as you did while I go for a walk…waiting for meeting my doggie pals at least one…wating wating but sometimes nopawdy is there….
    sad, isn’t it?

Kevin, sometimes I see lots of my dog friends and sometimes none of them. I guess you never know. One of these days Toby and I will both be outside at the same time though.

Bongo, maybe they put the clock forward one hour, like they do In Holland and calling it wintertime 🙂

Angels Whisper, everyone in the States does that clock thing except Arizona, the state I live in. I think we’re rebels here. I tried to do that around the block thing with my person again on the next walk and for some reason she wouldn’t go for it.

How weird, no one around! Ginger says bark lots next time someone will show up! hehehehe

Ginger, I haven’t tried that barking thing – but I bet it would get the neighbors out of their houses for sure.
