Gopher Golf

31 Dec

Little Yellow FlagThis is new. I’ve never seen a flag on my trails before.

Bongo next to a flag with the number 32 on it

Look, the flag even has a number on it. I wonder what it’s here for.

Bongo and a flag that has a 31 on it

Hey, I found another flag. This one has a number too.

We need to figure out why those flags are here. Maybe I should put on my Detective Dog hat again?

Oh wait, I think I’ve figured it out already.

Bongo sniffing a gopher mound

Look at this mound here. Right near those flags. You know who makes these mounds, don’t you?

And I bet those gophers are up to something. I bet they’re up to a good round of gopher golf.

All I have to do is follow those flags and I bet we’ll find the gophers. And the gopher golf balls.

Come on, person. Let’s go look for those gophers.

I know we’re almost at the end of our walk, but we’ve got to go back and look. Maybe they’ll let us in on the game. I’d like to swing at a few gophers.

Hmmm. I don’t see any gophers anywhere. Or any more flags, either.

Oh. Now I know why I’m not seeing any gophers.

Those gophers took their flags and their little golf balls and clubs…

Bongo checking out a gopher hole

and ran them down this hole.

Guess I’ll have to swing at a gopher another day.

Oh, sweet Bongo we are sorry you didn’t get to swing at those gophers. i guess they were all tired out from golfing by the time you got there. Maybe next time. Happy New Year to you all! Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, one of these days I’ll catch those gophers in action. They always seem to be hiding in their holes when I come around. Happy New Year and hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Jasper, it certainly is. I’ve never seen one of those gophers. Only the results of what they do.

I’m pretty sure I’m afraid of gophers. I do like to stick my nose into holes, though, so I may run into one sooner or later. Stick your nose in, B! You might get lucky.

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, I think I’ll stick my nose in and then start digging.

Jen, those gophers really are full of mischief. They even started digging in my person’s garden.

Happy New Year to both of you Alex and Penny, and to your family too. My person says she tried to take a picture of the Shea Blvd sign tonight because my younger person was driving, but it was dark and it didn’t turn out.

Pretty selfish of those gophers not to share their game with you.

Patricia, I would have loved to play gopher golf with them. Those gophers would have been turning somersaults.

Bongo, maybe gophers are as pesky as squirrels. They’re such a spoilsport 😦
    Happy New Year!

Angels Whisper, my person thinks gophers are more pesky than squirrels because they’re always digging up things then running back into their holes to hide. I’m not sure though. Nothing is peskier than one of those squirrels chattering at you from up in a tree.

    What meanies those gophers are!

    • Bongo

      January 1, 2013 at 11:55 am

No kidding Misaki. All they’d have to do is stay out and play for a little while longer.

Gophaer Golf sounds fun! I wish I could join to play, too! Hmmm…. they might not be good at playing golf? They maybe think that you play much better than they do, so that’s why they don’t want you to play with? 🙂
Happy New Year Bongo! I wish you lots of happiness in 2013! 🙂

Happy New Year to you too Kevin. Maybe those gophers got the hint that I want to use them for the golf balls.

Kolytyi, I sure hope their tunnels don’t collapse.
