Something really good happened around here. I mean really, really good.
It all started when my younger person was making himself some breakfast. That breakfast smelled wonderful, but I was being a good dog and leaving it alone.
Even when my younger person set his plate on the counter and left for a couple minutes. I didn’t go near it. No, not me.
Everybody thinks I’m so full of mischief, but I’m really a very good dog. I didn’t touch that food on my younger person’s plate.
But Scratchy had other ideas. Everyone thinks he’s such a good cat, but he’s the one who’s full of mischief. He’s just good at keeping it secret most of the time – or he lets me get the blame.
This time Scratchy got caught. He got up on the counter and he licked the Spam on my younger person’s plate. In broad daylight, with everyone watching, Scratchy licked that Spam.
And you know what my younger person did?
This is the best part. He gave that Spam to me.
Scratchy, I take back everything I ever said about you. You can get into mischief any time you want.

Sweet Kitten, I’m so glad you realize that. Some people think I’m always getting into mischief, but it’s always Scratchy – and then sometimes he blames me and gets away with it.

YouKai, it’s always special when I get a treat I wasn’t expecting. I’m not sure what tritured meat is, but Spam is processed pork. Spam is so popular in Hawaii that they serve it at McDonald’s. I think that’s where my younger person developed a liking for it.

Dear Scratchy.
That was not a good thing to do ..to lick younger person’s Spam…but I can understand why you did it. Cats are very clever at jumping quickly onto surfaces…I spend half my time getting my Kitty off onto the floor…but it was naughty of you.
I am sorry that you did not get a piece of Spam and that Bongo got all of it…so one day I shall buy a tin especially for you.

You could cooperate: if there is on the counter that Scratchy likes, then you get into a little mischief, and whenever there is something yummy for you, then he gets into mischief. Your persons will never find out your secret!
