I’ve got a real mystery on my hands – or maybe two or three – so on with my Detective Dog hat it is.
I’ve got to get to work.
Here’s what happened.
.
.
.
A couple days ago I went out on my trails and I found seven little lights.
I’ve never seen lights like these on my trails before.
I guess someone wanted to see in the dark – but why would they leave these lights here during the day?
So I started checking for clues.
No unusual smells here.
Maybe this way.
I came up with nothing so I decided to continue on down my trail.
And then I found another one.
Just sitting on the ground.
This is getting really strange.
I continued on my walk, sniffing as I went, but I didn’t find any more of those lights.
But the next day when I went out on my trails…
there were only five lights left.
And one still on the ground.
Now I’ve got a second mystery.
Not only did somebody leave these lights, but somebody is taking them away.
What’s a Detective Dog to do? Two mysteries at the same time.
I continued sniffing and then went back home – exhausted from brain drain over the two mysteries.
I went out again on my trails today, wearing my Detective Dog hat.
And mystery of all mysteries on my trails…
I only found one light left.
I hope I get this mystery solved before all the lights go out.

This is a seriously complicated case, luckily we have a seriously competent detective working on it. Good luck!

You’re lucky you know how to count. Seven, five, and one are all the same to me. I guess I’ll never be a detective.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, just think of treats. If you get seven treats you’ll be munching a lot longer than if you only get one treat.

Marina, now there’s one light and a rock. If you put the light under the rock it will really be twilight.

Geraldine and Mr. Ched, I’m working on it – but there’s still one light left. I thought it would have disappeared by now too.

Bongo, your hat fell off while you were searching!! I hope you solve the mystery!

Sue Ann, now you’ve given me another mystery to solve. What happened to my hat? Oh no. This is too much for a Detective Dog to handle all at once.

Bongo, you always crack me up. I hope you find your hat.

Thanks Sue Ann. I think my person put my hat up on a high shelf that I can’t reach – so the next mystery is, how am I going to get it back down.

OMD! This is a really mystery, Bongo….but…hang on….my mom has almost the same light in her room and there are two of them…..Oh no! what if she took them from your trail!!!! Mooooom!!!

Kevin, it’s okay if your mom took those lights because that solves the mystery. But who put them there in the first place? Do you think maybe instead of hail little lights came down from the sky?

Those seven lights were sitting next to a map. Perhaps a person put them there in order to make other people possible to see that map even if it is already dark and find their way home. Hoomans sometimes have very strange ideas.

Kolyty, that’s probably a good idea – lighting up that map. People on my trails are always having trouble finding their way back to their cars. Maybe if that map is lit up they’ll realize that their cars are just a few feet away in the parking lot.

Little Binky, I’m working really hard on this case. Sniffing here and sniffing there. So far I haven’t discovered anything but I’ll keep sniffing.
