A Walk in the Dark

16 Sep

Bongo in the darkYou can’t see this picture of me very well, can you?

Well, here’s what happened.

All weekend my person kept ignoring me.

I mean, she was hardly ever home.

And it seemed like either my person was gone, or there was thunder – or both – the whole weekend.

And I didn’t get a walk.

All day Saturday – no walk.

All day Sunday – no walk.

I’m going to turn into a fat, lazy dog if I don’t get my walks.

And what about my person?

If I don’t take her for walks and she doesn’t get her exercise she’s really going to be in trouble.

I wouldn’t even want to think about what’s going to happen. It would be ugly.

Finally on Sunday, my person came home when it was almost dark.

But at least she got my leash so I could take her out.

And when we got outside my neighbor dogs were out too. It was like a dog party. Woo woo!

Oops, now it’s really starting to get dark.

Come on person, we’ve got to go. I wouldn’t want you missing your walk.

And you know what the best thing is about walking in the dark?

My person can’t stop to take any pictures.

Marina, maybe I should make my person wait until dark every day.

Marina, I guess I’ll have to put up with my person taking pictures of other things so she can take pictures of me.

Oh Bongo. I’m glad you didn’t run into anything spooky scary out there! 🙂

Viciously Sweet, there’s not much scary on my trails – although my person says she does get concerned that coyotes might be out – because I like to go running after them.

That is outrageous..you should have called me. I would have come to resue you.I would have taken you for walkies, and played ball. It is not right that you should be abused…shall we report it

Patrecia, we should definitely report it. And I’ll remember to call you next time my person deserts me.

Little Binky, I bet you’d love going on night walks with us. I hear you cats are night creatures.

Actually, I have a feeling your person did stop a time or two. Dark scares me. When I see my neighbors in the light, I love them, but in the dark I bark at them.

Cupcake, at least there was enough light to see – but my person and I walked really fast because that light wouldn’t have lasted much longer.

Benny & Lily, I’ll take a walk any way I can get it – except when there’s thunder of course – but I sure don’t appreciate my person leaving me for so long.

My dogs hate when walks don’t happy due to weather…or me. I’m very good about them unless it’s poring out, but they always look so depressed when they miss a walk.

Jill, my person will go out with me in almost any weather but I won’t go with her if there’s thunder. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Kari, my person says it’s good the coyotes weren’t out. I wish they were. I love to chase after them.

Kevin, I’ll probably be mostly doing daytime walks. As soon as it gets a little cooler here we will be able to go out any time of the day.

Karen, we can only go in the morning or late in the day during the summer here – but we hardly ever wait until it’s dark. It’s starting to cool a little here, but it can still drop a few degrees. I hope it cools down at your place soon.
