Too Dark

A few days ago I figured out the master plan.

And it worked – sort of.

You see, I decided to wait to take my person for walks until the sun is almost down and everything is in shadow.

That way there’s nothing for my person to take pictures of.

It’s too dark.

My person has been going along with the late walks because it’s not so hot outside.

But she still tries to take pictures.

Usually she gives up pretty quickly because it’s too dark for anything to turn out.

So today I did my best to stall my person until it got dark enough.

Notice, you don’t see a picture of me balking.

It was too dark.

And you don’t see any pictures of those late blooming prickly pear blossoms we saw.

It was too dark.

But something went wrong.

My person found something to take pictures of anyway.

And it wasn’t too dark.

Guess I’ve got to come up with another plan.

A Walk in the Dark

You can’t see this picture of me very well, can you?

Well, here’s what happened.

All weekend my person kept ignoring me.

I mean, she was hardly ever home.

And it seemed like either my person was gone, or there was thunder – or both – the whole weekend.

And I didn’t get a walk.

All day Saturday – no walk.

All day Sunday – no walk.

I’m going to turn into a fat, lazy dog if I don’t get my walks.

And what about my person?

If I don’t take her for walks and she doesn’t get her exercise she’s really going to be in trouble.

I wouldn’t even want to think about what’s going to happen. It would be ugly.

Finally on Sunday, my person came home when it was almost dark.

But at least she got my leash so I could take her out.

And when we got outside my neighbor dogs were out too. It was like a dog party. Woo woo!

Oops, now it’s really starting to get dark.

Come on person, we’ve got to go. I wouldn’t want you missing your walk.

And you know what the best thing is about walking in the dark?

My person can’t stop to take any pictures.

This time of year my person and I usually go out on my trails when it’s almost dark. That’s because it’s too hot during the day, but when the sun goes down it gets really nice. But it’s too dark to take a picture.

So how am I going to prove that I went out and saw so many of my dog friends today. I guess they all had the same idea we did.

First I saw one of my neighbor dog friends. I don’t get to see her very often because she lives way down at the other end of the street.

Then I saw a little dog that was so little she had to be carried. I guess her tiny legs couldn’t go that far. What seems like a few feet to me must have seemed like miles to her.

Then there was my bike dog friend. This little dog is always running behind his person who is riding a bike. He never stops to say hi because he’s too busy keeping up with the bike.

A brown dog got off the trail when I showed up, and then my person made me get off the trail for two more dogs.

I know you’re not going to believe I saw so many dog friends within five minutes of walking on my trails, but what can I say. It was too dark to take a picture.
