National Walk Your Dog Week

03 Oct

Bongo walking in a dry washWe’re right in the middle of it – and it’s one of the best weeks there is.

It means I get to go out for walks every day.

Wait a minute. I go out for walks almost every day anyway.

So what’s so special about this week?

I guess I’d better tell you what week it is.

It’s National Walk Your Dog Week.

And I’ve got to tell all you dogs out there that if you’re not taking your people for walks all the time you’re missing out on a lot of adventures.

Bongo walking out of his puddle

My person says it’s good exercise for her and for me. I guess that’s okay.

But what’s more important are the messages I find on my trails from my trail dog buddies.

Bongo sniffing a bush with little yellow flowers

And the dogs and people I get to meet and greet.

Bongo and Layla rubbing heads

By the way, I think I got a new girlfriend today. She was really cute and she wouldn’t leave me alone. Woo woo! More benefits of going out for walks.

If I didn’t go out for walks all the time my life would be boring.

I wouldn’t have adventures to tell you about.

So if I didn’t go for walks and have adventures you’d probably fall asleep when you read my blog.

It would be that boring.

It would probably be like reading a blog that Scratchy wrote.

Scratchy on the Couch

Come to think of it, maybe I should start a National Walk Your Cat Week. Scratchy might have something interesting to say then.

Oh wait, never mind. He’d probably try to steal my blog.

The weather looks great in those pictures. Unfortunately it’s been a clash of either really warm weather or pouring rain by me (Trinidad) these day.

I gave Missy a bath yesterday. As usual it was a struggle. That girl don’t like to bathe at all lol.

Selima, October is usually our best weather month here, so it’s perfect for going on walks. And tell Missy that I’ll take all her baths. I love getting wet any way I can – swimming is best though.

Patrecia, of course you’re the only one in my life. But I have to keep the girls here occupied since you’re so far away.

We of course think National Walk Your Dog Week is great since we love to walk. We would like a woods walk everyday but that is not possible, so we walk with Dad in the evening and see which friends are out too:)

Lexie and Mica, woods walks are the best. But meeting friends is great too.

Your adventures are so fascinating, B., Scratchy couldn’t begin to compete. Your new friend looks like she wants to eat your face.

    Love and licks,

Thanks Cupcake. Scratchy tries to steal my blog every once in awhile, but I think he would bore everyone to tears if he was on it all the time. Scratchy! Stay away from that computer!

Ku, you are so lucky. My buddy Toby gets lots of walks too, but I usually get one long one.

Thanks Stanze. Going for walks is the best – especially when I find girlfriends on my trails.

It really is a great week Bongo and once of my favorites…I can use the “holiday” to guilt my Momz into an extra walk 🙂

Great idea Gizmo. We should all get extra walks this week.

With all the girlfriends you have how do you keep them from all showing up on your trail at the same time? That might be a very interesting blog post.

Patricia, so far I’ve lucked out. I’ve only met one girlfriend at a time. The problem is that most of the time I don’t see any of my girlfriends.

I like my walks too Bongo but Diane’s got this thing called a sciatic nerve so we haven’t been doing much walking. That’s ok though because we’ve been going on a lot of car rides lately because my Niki’s car keeps breaking and I love riding…makes me faster than any dog in town. You better watch out for that girlfriend. I think she wants your ear.
Scratchy and Moe could do a joint blog and out everyone to sleep.

Lola, car rides are fun – almost as good as walks, so that’s good that you’re getting those rides. I think we should give Scratchy and Moe their own blog. I bet they’d get about one view a day – if they’re lucky.

Your walks has lots of benefits Bongo! *whispers* Especially finding new girlfriends! I’m jealous!

Kevin, I’m not going to tell Scratchy what you said – he’ll probably try to steal my blog again. But if I get too many girlfriends I’ll send one of them your way. It’s always great meeting up with girlfriends on my trails.

Little Binky, please don’t get jealous. I’ve got to have someone to get close to since all my blogging buddies are so far away.

National Dog Walking Week would be even more interesting: http://talesandtails.com/?p=10793. Imagine that dogs could decide whether they want to go and have adventures alone or with their person.

    • Bongo

      October 5, 2013 at 9:23 pm

Kolytyi, that would be so great because if my person is really busy I could still have my walks. The only problem is that then I would have to explain all about the adventures I had so my person could type them up for my blog.

Please Add to my Adventure
