Today is National Mole Day. I’m not a mole but I thought it might be good to support other animoles.
And the theme this year is AniMOLE Kingdom. That includes me too – I think.
I do have one thing in common with moles.
.
.
We both like to dig.
But we don’t have any moles living around here, so I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to celebrate.
It’s kind of hard to have a mole party when there aren’t any moles to party with.
Maybe I could change the day to National Gopher Day.
We have lots of gophers around here and they like to dig holes too.
Now all I’ve got to do is gather up some gophers and start the party.
If I can find any, that is.
I’ve never seen a gopher.
They’re always hiding in their holes.
Maybe I’ll go dig a few out. That sounds like fun.
I’ll be back in awhile. Once I’ve got some gophers.
***
Boy, those gophers are sure hard to come by.
What? Person, what do you mean I don’t need any gophers?
This day isn’t about digging moles?
It’s about chemistry moles?
You mean moles that put on white jackets and play around with test tubes?
It has to do with molecules?
Molecules don’t dig holes – or play with test tubes. They’re too little.
I don’t get it.
The gophers are gone and there’s too many moles.
Think I’ll just go dig a hole.

There you go sweet Bongo you got the right idea. Digging holes is a lot more fun than looking for gophers, moles or molecules. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mag, I think I’ll keep digging away. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

So you are celebrating Avogadro’s number! What better way than digging 6.022 x 10[23] holes!! 🙂

Marina, I’m not very good with numbers but I think that’s a lot of holes.

Bless you Bongo. I am an old lady who sometimes a little forgetful and a little confused..now after reading about moles, gophers, and molecules…I am totally confused.
There is a poem about moles but I only know the first two lines…. I am a mole, and I live in a hole?.. maybe someone will know the rest.
There was also a mole in Wind in the Willows…. now you are totally confused….

Patrecia, my person remembers that Wind in the Willows mole. She had to look in that book to remember his name. It was Mole. Maybe he’ll help me go digging for gophers.

This whole thing has my head spinning. I think I will go dig a hole, too. And I don’t even know how to dig holes! GAH!
Love and licks,

Cupcake, I really don’t dig holes very often. Usually the ground here is too hard – except after a good rain. Come on over next time it rains and we can dig together.

Moles? Gophers? We have them and rabbits too! And tree rats… stinkin squirrels!!! We need to eliminate them all!

Viciously Sweet, we can put another Mole Day on the calendar so you don’t have to wait until next year to do that.

The mole’s picture on the top is very cute! We haven’t seen moles and gophers in real and only seen them on TV or on the books, but somehow they look cute to me! Especially I was so surprised to see mole’s big gloves, which seem to be so handy to dig! I love digging, so we need those gloves, too! 🙂

Kevin, that would be cool to have mole gloves when we dig. My person says real moles are kind of ugly, but gophers are cute. But they’re both pesky because they leave holes everywhere.

Sounds like a great idea, we’ve been in a digging mood lately too 🙂

Lexie and Mica, I’m waiting for some rain around here to soften up the ground. Most of the time it’s so hard that digging is no fun.

Ooooh we have moles here Bongo & I can send you some. John really doesn’t like what they do to the lawn so he’d been happy to put some in a box for you. They might not be able to dig once they get to you but maybe you could make a hole for them.

Lola, my person says I can’t have any pet moles. The gophers do enough damage but at least they’re cuter than moles.
