Standing Guard

24 Oct

Bongo standing by the evidenceAlright where is it?

Where is that pesky thing?

I know it’s around somewhere.

It dropped its evidence right down here.

I’m going to get that thing.

This time I’m really going to get it.

.

.

.

Bongo standing guard

I’m going to wait right here until it comes back for this thing it dropped.

Then I’ll pounce.

And it won’t have a chance.

It’s usually up in a tree laughing at me.

Or running across a telephone wire.

No trees or wires to run to safety to out here.

That creature made its last mistake.

It could have eaten this thing right where it was.

But it brought it way out on my trails instead.

And now it won’t have a chance.

***

I’ve been waiting forever.

Nothing, nada, nobody is showing up.

I give up.

A peanut on the ground

I guess that pesky squirrel forgot all about the peanut it dropped.

Best not to mess with a squirrel. They have big front teeth…but you are still a good boy and I love you to bits

Oh, sweet Bongo we know about those pesky squirrels. We bet he is hidden somewhere waiting for you to leave then he will run and grab that peanut and be off with it. Sorry you didn’t get to pounce on him. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy, maybe you can come over here and help me get that squirrel. There’s got to be a way to do it. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Ah, he probably got scared by your dynamic presence, Bongo and left a peanut to sweeten you! 😉

Marina, maybe I should have taken the peanut with me when he didn’t show up. I bet he’d follow me and I could turn around and pounce.

It’s best you didn’t pounce on them… squirrels aren’t the best dog playmates. They just can’t keep up with your fun 🙂

Viciously Sweet, when they’re up in trees they always make fun of me. I was hoping to switch that around.

Oh those sneaky tree rats trespassing & littering on YOUR trail How dare they?

Gizmo, maybe I should put that peanut into a geocache. Then that pesky squirrel would have to chase the person who found it and maybe the squirrel wouldn’t come back.

You don’t even need a detective hat to figure out that one, B. Squirrels! Ugh.

Cupcake, that one was really obvious. But I wish it would make itself more obvious and come out of hiding.

BOL! I’m wondering where that pesky squirrel got the peanut….? Hmmm…he/she is truly sneaky to invade your propety(your trails), Bongo. You have to hire some gurads to get them out! Hee hee… 🙂

Kevin, some of my neighbors give peanuts to those pesky squirrels. They’ve even dropped them right in front of my house before. Probably because they heard me coming and they ran.

Oh… I got an idea… put that peanut right outside your door and wait for the squirrel to come and get it and then its squirrel fricasee time….

Ginger, sometimes I find peanuts right outside my door. I think those squirrels are so scared of me that they drop them and run.

Bongo, I don’t like squirrels either – they say bad things to me & Diane tells me to leave them alone so I only bark at them & don’t chase. But Clancy who was a Berner who lived here before me used to catch them & play the spinning game with them. Diane says that didn’t work out so well for the squirrels…Lola

Lola, I wish Clancy was still around. I’d like to learn how to play that squirrel spinning game.
