What Good is Busy?

08 Nov

Bongo and Julie playing on the trailBusy, busy, busy.

Most of the time I don’t like that word – especially when my person says it.

When she says that word she usually leaves the house and leaves me home alone. Well, with Scratchy but he doesn’t count.

If she does stay home with that word she ignores me and won’t play.

And today she said it was one of those busy days.

Two meetings and a wedding and a class. She could have taken me along, but no she didn’t.

But today something good came out of busy.

This time of year we rarely go for walks in the morning – we usually wait until later in the afternoon.

But all of my person’s busies were later in the day so I had to take her for a walk in the morning.

We haven’t been on a morning walk since it was hot last summer, but someone I know goes on morning walks – and I haven’t seen her since last summer.

But I saw her today.

My girlfriend Julie!

And something else happened too.

My person has never unhooked my leash while we’re on my trails.

But she did today.

I guess she didn’t want me and Julie to tangle her up.

Kimberly, it was great fun seeing my girlfriend even though she wears me out. She’s much younger than I am.

Sometimes you need a good wearing out though. That makes your person very happy I ‘m sure.

Karen, I agree – it was a great way to begin the day. And thanks for saying I have a beautiful girlfriend. I’ll have to pass that on to her next time I see her.

Thanks Patrecia – but you’re still my girlfriend too. I have to have girlfriends close by since you’re so far away.

Thanks Marina. We have a great time together. And Julie’s person likes it when I wear her out so he doesn’t have to exercise her so much. But she’s much younger than me. She wears me out.

It doesn’t matter if my people are busy, the kids still sneak me vegetables from under the table. But I guess I can see why you wouldn’t like that word. Cats don’t make very good company, especially for a rabbit.

Writer Rabbit, I wish I had kids here to sneak me treats under the table. It would be way better than trying to play with a cat.

Looks like Julie was glad to see you Bongo. Things have been too busy at my house lately – I like greeting all the workers, but then they make terrible noises with these saw things & it bothers my naps….Lola

Lola, I guess I got lucky. My person had all those guys here with saw things before they got me. Scratchy told me all about it.

Glad you got to visit with Julie. And it seems you were a good boy when you were off leash. Maybe it was a test to see how you would behave. I think you passed..

Patricia, my person only lets me off leash in an open area when there’s something I really like to do – like play with Julie or go swimming. For some reason she thinks I’ll run off otherwise. I have no idea where she gets that idea.

I’m glad to hear you saw and play with your girlfriend, Julie and could be off leash for that! Woohoo! 🙂

Kevin, I had so much fun with Julie. I’m going to have to get after my person to keep taking me on morning walks so I can see her more often.

Looks like you had great fun and woo hoo to letting your person loose from the leash for a while, you must really trust her!!

Dalton, I still have to keep a close eye on my person. She might wander off and get lost if I’m not there with her.

Skylight, I had a great time. I’m going to have to get my person to take me on more morning walks. That’s when I see Julie.
