It’s a hole.
A hole in the parking lot of my trails.
And I bet I know who did it.
Those pesky gophers.
.
.
They’re always digging holes on my trails.
And piling up mounds too.
Normally they stay off my trails and don’t cause any hazards for anybody.
But look at this!
They’re traveling right out into the parking lot.
Building a whole network of underground tunnels.
And if they’re not careful this whole parking lot’s going to collapse.
It’s already started.
What if somebody falls into this hole and disappears into a deep, dark gopher kingdom.
Or what if those gophers don’t stop at the parking lot.
What if they tunnel all the way to my house and my house falls in.
This has got to stop.
This has got to stop now!
I’m getting me some gopher traps.
Now I’ve just got to figure out how to fit into those tunnels so I can lay those traps where the gophers will find them.

I think you need to be smaller to fit into those holes… Maybe Wall-E could help you?

Hm, that’s a hard one to solve… but then, you are a super clever dog!!! 🙂

Marina, I’m not sure I want to solve this one. I might have to stop eating treats to get skinny enough. Maybe I’ll just dig into those tunnels until I find those pesky gophers.

Bailey says he does not have gophers, but he has holes in his yard from moles. But he’s sure they are just as annoying.

Bailey, my person says gophers are cuter than moles but they’re both very annoying.

You have to be careful of those holes, why you or your person could break a leg!

Lola, that’s why I’m planning to give those gophers what for. If that hole gets too big somebody might even lose their car.

Oh Bongo – what are these gopher things that you bark about? I’ve never heard/seen of such. Of course, I’m a mere pig in captivity. Whatever they are, they did BIG holes. Please be careful on your walks. XOXO – Bacon

Bacon, I’ve never seen a gopher either because they’re always hiding down their holes when I come by. But they’re sneaky. When you’re not looking their holes pop up everywhere.

Thanks my friend. The next time I’m in my magical backyard I will have to check holes… You know the ones not made by me – snorts. XOXO – Bacon

A gopher tunnel sounds like a horrible place. I think gophers would chew my face off. I hate when that happens. I hope you find a solution for this dilemma, B.

Cupcake, I’ll figure out some way to give those gophers what for. I sure wouldn’t want them chewing your face off – or anybody else’s face for that matter.

Agata, we don’t have any moles around here but gophers are all over the place.

Are they out of the hole at night? During daytime, what they are doing? Sleeping? They’re nocturnal? Have you met them face to face, Bongo?

Kevin, those gophers hang out in their tunnels and hardly ever come out. They dig tunnels to find food and sometimes they just pull it down by the roots. My person says once she saw one out of its tunnel, but when they do come out they stay very close to their hole. I’ve never seen one – only their holes and the piles of dirt they leave everywhere.
