These aren’t supposed to be here yet.
What are berries doing while it’s still winter?
All the other Manzanita bushes still look like this.

.
.
What? You can’t tell the difference?
Well then, check this out.
Blossoms.
All the other bushes are still covered in blossoms.
So where did all these berries come from?
I’d better do something to hide these berries from my person.
If she sees them she’ll have her camera out in no time.
And she’s going to have plenty of time to take pictures of berries without starting now.
Hey person, look over there.
Don’t look this way.
There’s nothing interesting here.
Person, what is your camera doing out?
What could you possibly find here to take pictures of?
This is going to be a long picture taking season.

Bongo Fact: Manzanita means Little Apple
Can you tell why these bushes are named Manzanita?

Patrecia, the only problem is you have to get bunches of them just to equal one bite.

Fredrieka, you can send some of your snow this way. I haven’t had any to play in all winter.

Cupcake, don’t try to eat those little apples though. They’re not poison but they don’t taste very good.

Well, I can’t blame your person for getting her camera out. Those little apples look lovely. Next time though, be sure to get your nose in front of the camera just as she presses the button! 🙂

Marina, I try that nose thing but then my person presses the button again.

Oh dear, you getting berries early is as bad as us getting snow this late and our frost line being so deep. It is going to be a strange summer. Your mom took very pretty pictures of the berries and flowers though!

Marty’s Mom, my person says thanks. We’re concerned here about a dry summer and forest fire danger because we hardly had any winter at all.

If you want to keep you mom from taking pictures you need to hide her camera before you even start your hike. Those blossoms are so sweet.

With all the snow, ice and freezing temps this year, we’re never going to have Spring. She can send us all the berry and flower pictures she would like 😦

Lexie and Mica, you might have to come hang out on my trails for awhile. Except I don’t have a creek to swim in.

These little green apple look so pretty! It’s a shame that they don’t taste good….I like your person’s long picture taking season because your trails are full of beautiful natures!!! 🙂

Kevin, those little apples get even prettier when they start getting some more color on them. But I think one picture all year is all my person should take – unless she finds a picture taking spot near some good smells.

I still can’t understand why your person takes pictures of flowers & berries when she could do so many more of you Bongo. You’re so much more handsome.

Thanks Lola. You’d think my person would want to do nothing but take pictures of me. And then give me treats for posing for her.
