Unwelcome Visitor

06 Mar

Bongo looking like he doesn't know what to doSome creatures are so nervy.

I was minding my own business today, being the perfect dog that I am, when a squirrel took over my tree and started chattering.

.

.

.

.

.

Squirrel on a tree stuffing something in his mouth

Those pesky squirrels!

Not only is that squirrel hanging out in my tree, but he’s trying to taunt me with food.

I see that treat he’s hiding in his mouth.

He knows I see it too.

I know how those squirrels think.

Squirrel in a tree with a peanut it it's mouth

See, that squirrel’s got a peanut in his mouth.

And he’s not even going to try to hide it anymore.

He’s going to flaunt it.

He’s hoping I’ll get upset and try to go after him for his peanut.

But I’ve got other plans up my sleeve.

Squirrel in a tree with a peanut in it's mouth

You might as well give up you pesky squirrel.

I’ve got your number.

You’re done for now.

***

So just to show that squirrel that I mean business I’m going to get my own treats.

I went out into the kitchen…

Dog treat shaped like a squirrel

And I ate the squirrel.

That’s what I thought too Kimberly. I don’t think that squirrel will be coming around here again.

Cupcake, if any more squirrels show up I’ll let you know. I’m not sure about the cookies though. There might not be any left by the time you get here.

Those squirrels Bongo…they’re always going with the smart mouth business. Glad you got one to eat though & it’s much better than a lousy peanut.

Yeah Lola. That pesky squirrel can have his peanut. I just hope he never comes back.

Good job Bongo, it’s way too cold for our squirrels and there won’t be any nuts for a long time.

Lexie and Mica, the squirrels here have some of my neighbors wrapped around their tails. They’ve conned them into giving them peanuts.

Kevin, I think you’re right. My person took the first pictures through the window but when she went outside he still stuck around. He did climb a little higher into the tree but my person has a new lens on her camera that can zoom in much better than her old one could.

Lily and Edward, those squirrels will find out who they are as soon as we can get one on the ground. They think they’re so great because they can play keep away in the trees.
