Snow Day

03 Dec

Bongo with Frisbee in the SnowYipee! It’s a snow day. My person says the last thing people usually think about when they think of Arizona is snow. She says they think of deserts and cactus – but snow ??? Well, I want to tell you I live in that other part of Arizona. The part nobody thinks about. The part that gets snow – and today we have snow.

The first thing I did when my person let me outside was eat some of it. Not too much. I need to save some to play in. I promise, it wasn’t yellow snow that I was eating. Remember, I said it was the first thing I did when I went out.

My absolute favorite thing to do in the snow is drag my Frisbee around. It slides so well on that slippery white stuff. But I had a problem. Last night before it started snowing I left my Frisbee outside. Now it’s not going to be so easy to find. But wait – here it is!

My person says in dog years I’m getting up there. But I don’t believe her. I’m still a puppy when it comes to snow.

Wow Bongo! Snow! how wonderful ..I am really pleased for you.. You look really happy playing out in the snow with your frizbee.

It has not started to snow in Bulgaria yet, but it soon will, some people say next week.
I am not like you, I prefer to stay inside when it is snowy but I know that Guido loves the snow..he pushes his nose right down into the snow and then rolls in it. He does enjoy himself.

The others go out , do a wee, and then come in again.. love to you all xxxxxx

Patreciau, we don’t get all that much snow where I live so when it comes it’s a special treat. I think Guido and I would have a great time in the snow together.

Thanks Kibble. I’m resting from my romp in the snow, but I think I’m going to drag my person back out there again soon.

Two years ago we decided to visit the Grand Canyon, in December. I looked at the weather averages and it looked very doable.

We got as far as Kingman and I-40 was closed. Two days later we got as far as Seligman. Once again, ice had closed the road. Two days later, we made it to the Grand Canyon, I think. It was snowing so hard we couldn’t see a bloody thing.

So glad you are enjoying that Arizona snow Bongo.

Terri, my person says it can get pretty nasty up there around I-40. We’re not as high in elevation – Sedona – so we don’t get nearly as much snow. She says she’s been to the Grand Canyon with snow on the ground and a sunny day, and it’s one of the most beautiful sights she’s seen.

Rumpy, mine will probably be gone tomorrow, but it’s still coming down right now. You’re such a snow dog. Come on over and play.

Oh, sweet Bongo you have snow to play in…yippee!!! We don’t see much snow here but we love to play in it when we do. Glad you found and recovered your Frisbee. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I guess it’s good the snow isn’t too deep. I was able to sniff my Frisbee out. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Er, Bongo….you can keep the Snow Queen for a bit, still getting fire wood and dog house winterized. Love your photos tho 🙂

Sunshine, the snow doesn’t stay here long – so when you’re ready for it I’ll pass it on to you.

Great pictures and you look like you had a lot of fun!!! Yes, yellow snow is not good and the collies were wondering when you said you ate some snow. We’ve had some snow here, but it has all melted so far….. Someday we will tell the story of Lad going outside in 14 degrees below zero…. it is a hoot! 🙂 Keep up the great pictures and posts! 🙂

    God Bless You,

    Chuck and the Collies! 🙂

Collies, I’m sure glad it doesn’t get 14 degrees below here. And remember, when your snow comes back to check what color it is before you eat it. God Bless

Patricia, the snow is special here because it only stays for a little while.

PetParentDonna, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. My person says I would love the ocean in Florida, but I guess I’ll be happy with the snow.

Me too! Althought I don’t like the coldness, I love playing with snow and like makeing shaved ices everywhere especially my special yellow pee lemon syrup on!!! Hehehe…oops…excuse me! * apology*
You look having so much fun with snow Bongo!!! Great! 🙂

Kevin, I love the snow so I’m glad I don’t live in the part of Arizona that doesn’t get much. Of course, I’ll go outside in any weather as long as my person goes with me.

Enjoy the snow, Bongo! It’s nice to see you having such a great time:-) Our cat doesn’t like snow, it’s funny to see her walking step by step in the snow and shaking it from her legs:-)

    • Bongo

      December 4, 2011 at 1:35 pm

Angelswhisper, thanks for commenting. My person says she’s had cats that liked the snow, but most of them haven’t. Scratchy (our cat now) isn’t allowed outside in it, but I don’t think he’d like it.

Sweet Kitten, it was great fun. My person took me for a long walk in the snow too. She say she has pictures from it that I can put on my blog in a couple days.

Bassa, I’m sure glad we got some. Some years we only get little bits and it’s not enough to play in. Mine’s starting to go away now. I hope we both get more soon.

Hi Bongo! I’m so glad you found your frisbee. When we lived in New Mexico, people thought the same thing – that it was all desert and cactus – but we lived in the part of NM that got snow and very cold temps. It got colder there than it does here in Michigan, which has a reputation for cold and snow. I love seeing you running around like a puppy in these photos! Never lose your inner puppy, Bongo!

    • Bongo

      December 4, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Laurie, you must have been high up in New Mexico to be colder than Michigan. My person says she was in Indiana last March and a bunch of people from Michigan were there too – she learned a new definition of “warm” from them.

I love playing in the snow too! We haven’t gotten any since I moved to New York…paws crossed that a good snowstorm comes our way soon.

Uptown Dog, crossing my paws for you. I bet you’ll get some good snow to play in soon.

Wonderbutt’s person, my person says the snow is good here because it’s usually gone by the next day. We still have a little bit left. Send Wonderbutt over to play in it with me.

I love to play in the snow, but my person only likes to look at it through windows. She loves your pictures, though. Maybe they will be enough to convince her to take me up to the mountains this winter.

    • Bongo

      December 5, 2011 at 11:14 am

Lola, snow is so much fun. I hope you get your trip to the mountains. Tell your person to dress warm and wear good boots and she might have fun too.

Bongo, you look so happy playing in the snow! I think Gertie and Duke are ready for snow here. So far all we’ve gotten is rain and wind and cold. But I’m sure they’ll get their wish sooner or later. I think Gertie will like having a boxer buddy who will kick up the snow with her.

    • Bongo

      December 5, 2011 at 9:34 pm

Andrea, I hope Gertie and Duke get snow soon. It’s so much more fun than rain and wind and cold.

Hi Bongo! I really enjoyed the action shots of your search and rescue of your frisbees! We have about a foot of snow at my house here in Colorado and my Sophie really likes to throw snow up in the air with her snout–you should try that sometime!

    • Bongo

      December 5, 2011 at 9:52 pm

Katyoparty, I bet Sophie’s an expert in the snow being from Colorado. Throwing snow up in the air sounds like fun.

B0ng0, snow is great isn’t it? I hope you get some soon.
