Snow Day

03 Dec

Bongo with Frisbee in the SnowYipee! It’s a snow day. My person says the last thing people usually think about when they think of Arizona is snow. She says they think of deserts and cactus – but snow ??? Well, I want to tell you I live in that other part of Arizona. The part nobody thinks about. The part that gets snow – and today we have snow.

The first thing I did when my person let me outside was eat some of it. Not too much. I need to save some to play in. I promise, it wasn’t yellow snow that I was eating. Remember, I said it was the first thing I did when I went out.

My absolute favorite thing to do in the snow is drag my Frisbee around. It slides so well on that slippery white stuff. But I had a problem. Last night before it started snowing I left my Frisbee outside. Now it’s not going to be so easy to find. But wait – here it is!

My person says in dog years I’m getting up there. But I don’t believe her. I’m still a puppy when it comes to snow.

Wow Bongo! Snow! how wonderful ..I am really pleased for you.. You look really happy playing out in the snow with your frizbee.

It has not started to snow in Bulgaria yet, but it soon will, some people say next week.
I am not like you, I prefer to stay inside when it is snowy but I know that Guido loves the snow..he pushes his nose right down into the snow and then rolls in it. He does enjoy himself.

The others go out , do a wee, and then come in again.. love to you all xxxxxx

Patreciau, we don’t get all that much snow where I live so when it comes it’s a special treat. I think Guido and I would have a great time in the snow together.

Thanks Kibble. I’m resting from my romp in the snow, but I think I’m going to drag my person back out there again soon.

Two years ago we decided to visit the Grand Canyon, in December. I looked at the weather averages and it looked very doable.

We got as far as Kingman and I-40 was closed. Two days later we got as far as Seligman. Once again, ice had closed the road. Two days later, we made it to the Grand Canyon, I think. It was snowing so hard we couldn’t see a bloody thing.

So glad you are enjoying that Arizona snow Bongo.

Terri, my person says it can get pretty nasty up there around I-40. We’re not as high in elevation – Sedona – so we don’t get nearly as much snow. She says she’s been to the Grand Canyon with snow on the ground and a sunny day, and it’s one of the most beautiful sights she’s seen.

Great pictures and you look like you had a lot of fun!!! Yes, yellow snow is not good and the collies were wondering when you said you ate some snow. We’ve had some snow here, but it has all melted so far….. Someday we will tell the story of Lad going outside in 14 degrees below zero…. it is a hoot! 🙂 Keep up the great pictures and posts! 🙂

    God Bless You,

    Chuck and the Collies! 🙂

Enjoy the snow, Bongo! It’s nice to see you having such a great time:-) Our cat doesn’t like snow, it’s funny to see her walking step by step in the snow and shaking it from her legs:-)

Angelswhisper, thanks for commenting. My person says she’s had cats that liked the snow, but most of them haven’t. Scratchy (our cat now) isn’t allowed outside in it, but I don’t think he’d like it.

Hi Bongo! I’m so glad you found your frisbee. When we lived in New Mexico, people thought the same thing – that it was all desert and cactus – but we lived in the part of NM that got snow and very cold temps. It got colder there than it does here in Michigan, which has a reputation for cold and snow. I love seeing you running around like a puppy in these photos! Never lose your inner puppy, Bongo!

Laurie, you must have been high up in New Mexico to be colder than Michigan. My person says she was in Indiana last March and a bunch of people from Michigan were there too – she learned a new definition of “warm” from them.

Bongo, you look so happy playing in the snow! I think Gertie and Duke are ready for snow here. So far all we’ve gotten is rain and wind and cold. But I’m sure they’ll get their wish sooner or later. I think Gertie will like having a boxer buddy who will kick up the snow with her.
