Houdini

11 Apr

HoudiniWe had an uneventful walk on my trails today and I was really worried. I didn’t know what I was going to write about for my blog. No lost people on the trails, no strange objects, no nothing.

We were back at the trailhead, almost to the parking lot when we found him. He came running over to greet me and we had a great time playing. There was a family starting out on the trail and we thought he belonged to them, but they went on – and he didn’t.

Two more people headed to their car so he must belong to them. They got in their car – and he didn’t.

Oh, no. Does he belong to us? We’re the only ones left here.

My person and I went home and he followed us – right into the house. We had a great time playing. The only other dog friend I have that likes to play with me is my girlfriend Lucy.

I got so excited I dumped all the water out of my dish and turned the kitchen into a slip-n-slide, but when I wasn’t looking my person found out who my new friend is. His name is Houdini.

I’ve been called Houdini before – right after I jumped over the fence. I guess now I’ve finally met the real Houdini.

Bella and DiDi, Houdini lives on the next street over from us. My person called the number on his tag and his person came over and got him. It was a good thing because I was really getting worn out. Time for a nap.

Bongo, you had so much fun with Houdini, your tongue escaped from your mouth and started practically running around on its own. Great shots, but where does Houdini live?

    Love and licks,
    C

Cupcake, my tongue does have a life of its own sometimes. Fortunately Houdini had a phone number on his tag. My person called it and found out he lives in the next street over. His person came and picked him up – literally.

Jaz, it was great making a new friend. Most dogs I know just want to sniff. It was fun finding a dog who wanted to play.

Bongo, I take it from your story that Houdini is back with his human people? Really loved this story, just when you think you don’t have anything to write about here comes this amazing story. You are such a cute, adorable, amazing & so well behaved. Any other adjectives you think I should add? lol

Thanks Tri. Houdini’s person came over and got him and took him home. But we got to play for awhile before she got here.

Rumpy, it was fun watching out for Houdini. His phone number was on his tag so my person called it. He lives on the next street over. Apparently some friends were visiting who didn’t know to watch out for him when they opened the gate.

Houdini looks small enough to be a good escape artist. Watch out.

Sandra, I’m hoping Houdini escapes again so we can play. I could maybe escape and go to his house, but my person knows my tricks now and it’s not so easy to escape any more.

Good thing Houdini found you and your person and followed you home. Some other dog and his person might not have been so nice as to let him in the house and find his family. Maybe he will come see you again.

Patricia, I’m hoping I get to play with Houdini again. We had a lot of fun. My person says she used to meet a lot of neighbors through me before she learned all my escaping tricks. She’s happy she can help another dog get back home.

Jen, I wish I could keep him but my person called his person and she came and took him back home. Maybe he’ll escape and come over here again.

What a cute little dog, Bongo. It’s great to see you both in action, but I feel a little sorry for Scratchy. Does Houdini also have some magical fingers.. paws like his namesake?

Angels Whisper, I think Houdini is just good at escaping.

Bongo, Houdini was probably so grateful you and your person took care of him. Maybe he was looking for his people? Well, he found a friend – wonder if he’ll houdini escape and show up at your door again. (Not if Scratchy has anything to do with it!)

Karen, I think Houdini was looking for someone to play with and he found me. I hope he comes back. (I don’t care what Scratchy thinks.)

Bassetmomma, I think Houdini is smaller than Scratchy. I wish Scratchy would play with me like that.

Thanks Flo. My person has been busy too and is way behind on catching up with my friend’s blogs. Houdini had a tag with his phone number on it. My person called and Houdini’s person came and got him. He lives on the next street over from us.

poor Scratchy…maybe Bongo you can find a friend for Scratchy sometime.

    • Bongo

      April 19, 2012 at 4:22 pm

Sunshine, Scratchy’s kind of anti-social. I don’t think he’d want a friend – unless maybe if it’s a fish and he can eat it.

Nizam, it was great fun playing with Houdini. He’s even smaller than Scratchy, but Scratchy isn’t very sociable.
