Almost Snow

16 Apr

Snow on High RocksIt snowed today, but I’m not sure what happened. Last time it snowed here I found all kinds of snow creatures. This time, nothing. I think there might be some in those rocks up there. Those rocks are a lot whiter than usual and snow creatures are white. So that might be them hiding up there.

I’m not sure why I saw snow coming down all day, but the ground is just wet. Shouldn’t it be white and slippery when it snows? I did find a few slushy weeds on my trails. They were extra good, but my person would only let me get a couple bites in before dragging me away.

Bongo eating a slushy weed

Oh, wait a minute. Here’s something that wasn’t here before. Puddles and squishy mud! This is alright! Keep walking, person. I’ve got to see how much mud I can squish.

Oh, look! It’s back! My puddle came back! Puddle, where have you been? I’ve missed you so much. I didn’t know if I would ever see you again. I’m so glad you came back. Were you lost? Did the snow creatures take you away with them? Did they drop you off before they went up on those rocks? Puddle, it’s so good to see you again.

I am happy to see that your puddles came back…I know how much you love playing in them.
I bet they came back just because they knew you missed them.

Penny, I think my puddles missed me too. They like my happy feet splashing through them.

Snow? My goodness it’s 88 in Massachusetts today! But those puddles surely look enticing although maybe you should have some Bongo Boots… I know they have sneakers & I’ll ask if they have boots – what’s your size?

Diane, Bongo Boots would be fun. I could make better splashes in my puddles. I don’t know my size though. I’ll have to get my person to measure my feet.

Pretty scenery! Did you need a b-a-t-h after splashing through all the mud and puddles? 😉

Your puddle is beautiful, Bongo! Ditto the mud. Do you get your feet washed when you go home? I am not even allowed to step in puddles or mud, but Mom still cleans my feet with baby wipes every time I go out. If I went to your puddle, I would drink it, eat the mud and dig a filthy hole and sit in it.

Love and licks and clean, shiny paws,

Cupcake, my person won’t let me drink the water or hang out in a puddle very long, but at least she doesn’t clean my feet. I think she gave up on trying to keep the carpet clean.

Angels Whisper, my puddle was so big that not all the water could stay in it. Some of it was running out again. I sure love splashing around in it.

I’m glad to see that you got your puddle back, Bongo!!! Did it snow there? Wow……the weather in your place is very changeable, isn’t it? Because it was very hot a few days ago like people wanted to take of their clothes!!! and then snow again? You might see your snow creaturs again during summer, too, Bongo!!! I hope you do! 🙂

      April 17, 2012 at 11:11 am

Kevin, our weather has been really unusual this year. It snowed all day but only stuck to the ground a little in the late afternoon. Then left again. Now the weather is warm again. Usually when a storm passes through it stays cold for several days afterwards but it’s warmed up right away after the last two storms. If I see snow creatures here this summer I’ll know something really strange is happening. It’s always hot here in the summer.

Dianda, it’s not unusual for us to get a few snow flurries this time of year, but it’s really strange for us to get this much.

    Hey Bongo, Jet here.

So glad to see your puddle returned… enjoy it my friend. Still can’t relate to that snow stuff… the squishy part… that’s another story… Good job for accumulating as much as you can!

Hey Jet, I wish you could come visit when we have snow. You would love it. It doesn’t stay around here long though so we might have to go into the high country to find some – but the high country isn’t very far away.

    • Bongo

      April 19, 2012 at 4:23 pm

Rumpy, I didn’t think about it but the snow must have tried to go swimming and drowned. No wonder there wasn’t any on the ground.

Sunshine, it might be the coyotes, but my person said something about my puddle shrinking from the sun. I can’t imagine why it would be scared of sunshine. You’re not scary.
