Maybe you can’t hear it anymore person, but I sure can. I don’t think I want to take you for a walk today.
Fine, I’ll go – but I’m not taking the lead. You’re going to have to be the one who decides where we go.

I don’t care if the trail is skinny here. I think this is a good time to practice my heeling. I’m really good at it, aren’t I?
I know this is the way back to the house, but that’s the way the thunder is coming from. Maybe we could go on a little longer walk.
Hey person, look who it is.
It’s sure a good thing I decided to take you for a walk today. Otherwise we would never have seen Ghost Dog. It’s been months since we’ve seen him.
Hey Ghost Dog, come back!
He hasn’t changed a bit. There he goes disappearing again. I guess he still likes to live up to that name I gave him.

Hey, Bongo, it’s been a while since “we” saw Ghost Dog! Maybe that’s a good sign! Maybe he appeared just to take those thunders away…
Bongo
August 20, 2012 at 3:43 pm
Marina, I guess Ghost Dog isn’t powerful enough because we’ve got some really loud thunders going on right now. Maybe if I found Ghost Dog again that would help, but I’m afraid to go outside to look for him right now. I’m hiding under my blanket instead.

Oh, Bongo… maybe you should move to Greece after all! We also have thunders but not that often and they don’t last that long either! Courage brave dog!

Marina, this has been the worst thunderstorm ever. I’m hopping on a plane and heading to Greece right now.

Oh dear, it’s still thundering for you – you poor thing. Don’t worry, soon you’ll be sending the sun and it’s corresponding rain back to us, here Down South, then you can go walking in peace

Susan, my person says the thunder should stop in three or four weeks. I think that’s a long time. This is the worst thunder season we’ve ever had.

Holy moly! Thank goodness you decided to go for that walk Bongo or you wouldn’t have seen ghost dog! What is up with that guy disappearing all the time anyways?
Bongo
August 20, 2012 at 3:47 pm
Bassetmomma, I’ve never been able to figure Ghost Dog out. He comes and goes, but he went for so long this time that I thought he was never coming back. What a surprise.

Is Ghost Dog a stray?
Sorry the thunder is still tormenting you!

August 20, 2012 at 8:28 pm
Kat n Collies, Ghost Dog has a home and a person. He just wanders around sometimes. I wish my person would let me do that, but she won’t. Thanks for the note on the thunder. It just won’t quit. My person says it should go away in two or three weeks but that seems like a very long time.

Monica, we usually walk about a mile – but we didn’t see Ghost Dog until we got back to the trailhead at the end of the walk.

Hi Bongo, We happened to see you on Bella’s blog and thought we’d stop by and woof at you. Looks like it turned out to be a good walk after all. Sorry the thunder is hard on you. Ghost dog looks like he could be friendly. Does he “patrol” the area?

Hi Ernie. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Ghost Dog is friendly but every time I see him he just disappears down the trail. That’s why I call him Ghost Dog. He’s always disappearing. I thought he had moved away because I hadn’t seen him for a long time.

At least your walk is going away from the thunder Bongo and a good sign, you got to see your distant friend Ghost Dog. Even though he doesn’t come close we think that seeing him is a good thing. Three or four weeks is a long time Bongo so hope it not very often.
Bongo
August 21, 2012 at 11:46 pm
Lexie and Mica, three or four weeks is a really long time because we’ve been having thunder almost every day. If you need to find me I’ll be hiding in my hallway under my blanket.

Hey Bongo, I just got back from vacation… well my people went on vacation & I went up to my friend Harry’s house – we call it Club Harry because whatever he cooks for himself, he cooks for me too. We had a problem though because I thought thunder was at my house but I found out it followed me up to Harry’s house too! I can’t figure this out but funny thing – he’s got a cat too. Now, we’ve talked about this before and I’ll say it again, I think this thunder has something to do with cats & now I’m pretty sure of it.

Lola, welcome back! I’d never thought of it before, but I think you’re right. Those cats must have something to do with thunder. Scratchy acts like it doesn’t even bother him with it thunders. I bet that’s because he caused it. Boy is he lucky he’s sleeping on top of the kitchen cabinets right now where I can’t reach him – because otherwise I’d really be giving him what for. Club Harry sounds like it would be a really cool place to stay if that cat wasn’t there.

Club Harry’s a great place & his pal Winston is a pretty cool cat to hang around with – he never even whacks me. But when I got home, boy was Moe mad! Ok, I may have eaten his food & sort of run right over him, but it’s only because I missed my family so much & was, well joyous.

Scratchy usually isn’t very happy when I come back home either.

Bongo do you think the ghost dog is searching for the thunder source? Maybe he can sneak up on it since he’s the color of fog and tell it to go away. You’ve had enough thunder to last for a long time!
Bongo
August 27, 2012 at 7:23 pm
Karen, I’d better go find Ghost Dog and see if he’s figured out how to get rid of the Thunder. I hope he doesn’t disappear before he tells me.
